Failed Helium Exit Bag attempt

August 19th, 2011 by joe borzak

Hello, the title says all.

I tried the Helium hood method. I thought I had planned it carefully enough. I put the bag over my forehead and opened the gas valve of the helium bottle. There was a regular, quick flow. Then, I removed all the air in my lungs and put the bag over my head. I didn’t pass out, even after three minutes. Could it be because I was breathing Ballonium instead of Helium ? Where can one be sure to find PURE helium ? Where can it be bought ?

It reads “Helium” on the bottle, so it cannot possibly be a mix of helium and air. If you have any clue on what I might have done wrong, please do give me some advice.

Come on ! I’m asking for advice !! Where is everybody ?!!!

    Same here…
My first attempt was with an old balloon kit canister, and the helium had leaked out, leaving regular air.
My second attempt was with a new canister. Unlike the “final exit” method, I had no “out” tube and simply started by emptying the bag of all air. (There isn’t enough helium for continuous flow.) Unfortunately, the store-bought helium does not seem to be pure enough. I did not pass out after a few minutes. Instead, I felt the strong choking sensation that comes with excessive carbon dioxide. It was quite painful, and I couldn’t control my instinct to thrash in pain. There was enough helium to change my voice, but a filled balloon didn’t really float. My next try will be from a proper store, which I found by searching the web for helium canisters.
Try searching the rest of suicideproject for more failures and tips. I hope though, that no one makes this decision in haste.

I can’t be of any help as this same thing happened to me.

I’m not sure what I did wrong but I sat with my head in the bag until I was about to chicken out. So I started to talk to myself to keep on going and laughed because my voice was so high! That kind of calmed me down but I never passed out.

I did not use a flow regulator and I used one of those white laundry bags with the drawstring instead of the clear one.

I blew the bag up several times which scared the crap out of me but I left the bag on. Still not sure what happened or why the hell I’m still here. Next step is to find a way to buy Nembutal.

I’m in the exact same boat…. I followed the steps carefully… I used a turkey roasting bag, with a sweatband around the bottom… put the sweatband around my forehead and got rid of all the air in teh bag, then I filled the bag with helium… Pulled it down over my face and breathed deeply…. Nothing… I panicked after about 30 seconds to be fair and pulled it off, but I thought that it was supposed to knock you out in a few gulps?

You can often find nitrogen tanks for sale cheap on craigslist. You can buy new ones at welding supply stores. They fill them there, too. It’s a better try then helium.

perhaps a bit late but did you use the gas flow regulator?

Hello, I already built a system as shown on “exit international” videos with two baloon kits (that look exactly like the ones in videos). I was wondering if someone has to stop the gaz flow in order to avoid the exit bag to break (I suppose the gaz pressure should be strong when opening the gaz). Is necesary to strengthen the bag? (I built a bag similar to the one on videos).
If the bag deoes not break from gas pressure, is there a risk that it may be difficult to breathe because of an excessive amount of gas in the bag (impossible to breathe out, if the bag is already full of gas?).
Has anyone aslready thought about this risk of breaking the exit bag or of exceeding the volume of gas it can accept.

Kind regards and a lot of thanks for your information.

Helo there proper use of exit bag with helium can cause peaceful death in 10-15 minutes you lose unconciousness within minutes of inhaling the gas but the technique should be used properly as stated in the peacepill book i repeat regulation of helium gas is more important if it is higher then u risk rupturing your lungs due to barotrauma which is painful you need to buy the Helium Flow Control Fitting and Pressure Gauge provided by exit because the helium flow control unit regulate the right supply of helium needed for peaceful death and gauge check the stated quantity of helium in the canister u need to buy this kit exclusive if u need information mail me at donot try this method unless you know the technique if u need information mail me at jamesstewart279@hushmail.com

HELP WITH HELIUM TUBING AND FITTINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Problem to get the helium kit u have to be 50+. Is there some other way of getting the right size tubing and regulator,? Would need to be balloon time helium as I haven’t got a car. Have looked on web but gas fittings are v complicated. Also, I had thought of a divers rebreather mask connected to helium instead, however I couldn’t find anyone who has tried this and a medical mask wasn’t recommended.
CAN PEOPLE ALSO SAY WHO THEY ARE REPLYING TO! COMMON SENSE! Ta

  11. girlthirties Says:

Also nonnamu u say Nitrogen a better try than helium. Why is this / what evidence have you? Ta. If so how big are small ones as I don’t have a car? Unless someone has a car and wanting to ctb with me.

  12. Kenneth-Oswald Says:

In the US, industrial gas cylinders for helium, argon, and nitrogen have the same valve (CGA 580). This means that if you use a gas cylinder of helium or nitrogen, the setup will be the same. You just have to make sure you get a regulator/flowmeter that has a scale for helium if that is the gas you intend to use.

As far as I know there is no concrete evidence that nitrogen works any better than helium. A few experts have speculated that nitrogen may be more physiological since the body is familiar with it as it constituents 78% of the air we breathe.

  13. winterrose Says:

Kenneth, If I purchase the balloon time kit that has helium for fifty balloons, is that enough for a success?

Also, where do I get a valve for this? I’m not over fifty so exit is no option, I live in Australia too.

Is there any way possible to do this without a flow reg?
