What password are they looking for?
The regular SP one doesn’t work, so how exactly do we know what to use for the protected posts?
Does the OP decide what the post’s password will be, and only distributes it privately to certain friends…?

I’m wondering if it’s something the admins meant to purposely include, or if it’s just something that automatically comes with Wordpress.
If it automatically comes with Wordpress, there might not be a way for them to disable it, even if they wanted to.
The password protected posts are like an exclusive club, reserved for members only. If you don’t have the password, you can’t gain entry.
I’m not sure why people create exclusive, “members only” type of clubs. To keep the riff-raff out? To avoid rubbing shoulders with the unwashed masses? So that only people within the same clique/social standing will congregate there? Who knows. It does seem very exclusionary.

It’s good to see you too.
I don’t care about protected posts but I would like them to have their own wall because these private posts take up space on a public wall so there are public posts I won’t get to see because they are pushed back by not only public posts but useless private posts speaking for 99% of users. I don’t feel excluded its just a waste of space on the wall.
On the plus side google doesn’t seem to index post content which is password protected. Perhaps we should all password protect sensitive posts for that reason alone but have the password available to all in an effort to avoid exclusion and segregation.
I’m so with you on that man. If you want only certain people to read your post just email them.
