There’s so much talk on this site about looking after your spirit more than what it actually means to be human. There needs to be a strict system in place that controls our evolution, or else the human race will not survive. I agree to some extent about a recent blog on here about the bipolar mental disorder, in so much that yes, it seems quite harsh the way those suffering from this illness are treated. But, the clue is in the word ‘disorder’. We need order to survive.Â
The human evolution is not a spiritual evolution, it is one controlled by technology. The rate at which humans evolve is about to become very rapid. With exponential growth rates in our development of nanotechnology, robotics, artificial intelligence, bioengineering, and the mapping and understanding of the brain, it is going to be possible, in the near future, for us to develop super(artificial)intelligence. Ray Kurzwell and other futurists are predicting that this can occur in as little as 25 years. I’ve also seen estimates of 40 years … either way, it is the near future. Don’t you see that spirituality and technology don’t mix?Â
The human race has long left behind their ‘spiritual’ side, and is advancing due to technology. It is not cruel to forcibly train and even medicate the human mind if it is better for the whole species in the long run. Some humans will die off because of “societies problems” but in the end the supreme beings will survive. The best of the best will outlive the rest. And so because some die others will grow.
To say that you hate society is to say that you hate being human. not

Hmm, well I agree with you to a certain extent, but to be honest, I think everything that you have wrote here is why I am determined to kill myself as soon as I can. I agree with you that society is ‘needed’ for the good of the human race and that’s why the majority are so willing and hungry to lap up every single rule and regulation thrown at them. So I mustn’t be as ‘evolved’ then as most humans, which could be why I see this world as cold and clinical.
We are entering a new era. It’s a merger between human intelligence and machine intelligence that is going to create something bigger than itself. It’s the cutting edge of evolution on our planet… It is part of our destiny and part of the destiny of evolution to continue to progress ever faster, and to grow the power of intelligence exponentially. To contemplate stopping that—to think human beings are fine the way they are—is a misplaced fond remembrance of what human beings used to be. What human beings are is a species that has undergone a cultural and technological evolution, and it’s the nature of evolution that it accelerates, and that its powers grow exponentially, and that’s what we’re talking about. The next stage of this will be to amplify our own intellectual powers with the results of our technology.
I appreciate that not everyone will want this change, but the majority do, and even those who claim they don’t want it, they want a more spiritual life, you can bet you last dollar that they themselves love and use technology most of the time! Plus, this change has already begun, there is no turning back.
This reminds me of the film ‘The Island’ is some ways, in that the people in the film were not ‘real’ people, but cloned ‘manufactured’. This evolution that you’re talking about is merely creating robots, not human beings, not people with real feelings and emotions, how can that be anything but bad?
That film (The Island) kind of supports the system doesn’t it? Think about it, the entire population of that ship or centre (whatever it was) thought they were ‘lucky’ to be there, to have everything done for them. They needed no money, they needed nothing outside of that system and they were happy! (except for the one main character – but that’s only for movie’s sake).
When they got out of that ‘system’ they hated it! They saw that the more ‘natural’ human race were violent, uglier, dirtier and corrupt.
Ask yourself this; how ‘useful’ are real emotions? Love can feel nice but it eventually hurts and fades, anger is nothing but destructive, then you got jealousy and vanity etc.
Hey listen, I’m not saying here that spirit doesn’t exist – I believe it does. Scientifically we are all made of cells that are all made of energy and nothing is actually solid matter. So therefore, we do all come from an energy, a spirit, that is all connected to a bigger picture. That energy is manifested into physical presence whilst you are a human being, so the logical thing to do is to work as hard as you can to evolve that physical presence. So, to say that you hate this life, or society or people, is to say you hate being human! The human race in it’s physical form will NEVER become a spiritual being, it’s insane to even think that – to become a spiritual being you have to NOT be human. It is not beneficial to our evolution and that’s why society works to eradicate it, and I support that.
Well I don’t want to be a robot. As crazy as my real emotions may be, I would choose to FEEL them rather than feel nothing at all. And I actually thoroughly agree with what you say, I already see a population of emotionally void robots. Most people are actually even more content with online friendships now than real ones which shows that we LOVE computers more than flesh and real emotions. It’s just not for me, I would chose my spirit over what’s on offer here any day.
This has already happened! And it’s not just our thoughts that are robotic, plastic surgery is common practice now, and most of our environment is changed by the presence of man – because we use fire to cook our food, our digestive system has changed, soon we will have no need for teeth (look this up). Man discovered that meat (protein) gave us physical energy and was good for us to grow – we are now leaner, better looking individuals (unless you’re french – only joking!) and so we LIVE LONGER and are more virile – we breed more. Human life only used to last approx 35 years.
I personally think we should have left our ‘evolution’ to nature, not technology. What if human life IS only a physical experience meant to be had for approx 35 years? Why fuck with it? Now we have to live really long and exhausting lives that are unfulfilling to the soul.
But I agree, spiritual people suffer this life.
This human experience is to experience all that is human (this does not make a pretty description whatever way you look at it, so I will leave out the description) So if you’re not happy to contribute to this human evolution wholeheartedly, then for sure you will suffer. It’s been a long journey but I recently bowed out of trying to live spiritually, and ‘make a difference’ to peoples lives, it made no effect other than to constantly exhaust me. I see now that trying to reason with an ‘artificial intelligence’ is futile in it’s highest form. Maybe I just don’t belong here.
Anything physical cannot BE spiritual. It can ‘sense’ spirituality, but it can never BE it. The power of the ego (society / artificial intelligence / human evolution) overrules the spirit and that’s why we fear death of it. Even when we hate it, we love it, that’s the seduction of the ego! Only when you have fully explored the human existence and eventually found that nothing in it can feed your soul, do you begin to see the real truth of it all. Only then can you break free of the physical presence.
Many think that it is the spirit that urges us to ‘do good’, ‘make a change’ – it’s not, it’s the ego. Your spirit cannot DO anything physical.
Humans think that we are ‘creative’ and magnificent, that is one of the biggest delusions that we possess. The only thing we do is build and create technology which kills other life forms and our planet. Humans are incapable of ‘doing good’ for anything or anyone other than themselves.
All sufficiently advanced technology is spiritual in nature.
alluvion, you want that to be true, but it’s not.
It is true due to the holographic nature of our universe. All points in time and space are connected, ‘reality’ is the shared consensus and thus a users consciousness itself is required to be the catalyst for operating advanced technology. This is spirituality.
