I have slowly but surely been getting my helium hood together so when that day comes when I really have had enough, I can just do it and be free from all the suffering. I was lucky enough to discover that even after you are unconscious, your body will still try to live so you can remove the bag from your head and live (NOT the intended result) so I had to start improvising and figure out a way to hand cuff myself to a chair AND restrain my neck so that I can’t pull the bag off. I am glad that I know to take these steps to ensure that I do not survive and get it right the first time. Of course there is always the sure fire way to end it (shotgun blast to the heart) but if you are like me……a chicken shit……I would rather spend a little extra time getting the Helium hood method done right.

A shotgun blast to the heart is not a guarenteed death, sorry. It’s too easy to jerk and miss, or to be not pointing at the right spot in the first place. Some people have blown half their face off and still lived.
Good luck though, finding the right method which feels comfortable is extremely difficult.
This is only my account of what happened to me.I tried the helium and bag method a while ago. When i put the bag on and opened the gas tap, it came out way too fast releasing all the helium in seconds. All that was left was the helium in the bag, not enough to kill me but probably enough to give me permanent brain damage for life. I guarantee you would be in a worse state if you ended up with brain damage still trapped in your body. Not nice at all.
True, those things do happen. With the shotgun to the heart…….I would lean on the 12 gauge in the precise location of the heart and prop the butt of the gun against the wall. With a slug for ammo…….I have a feeling I would not survive the blast. With the Helium hood……the bag has to fill first THEN you pull it over your head and breath DEEP, using 2 tanks would ensure enough Helium to accomplish the desired result. You are right though……anything can fail, as the will to live is a force to be reckoned with.
