I know it’s hard to forget. You’re scarred with these memories you wish you can just throw away. I know how you feel. I have done some, no so glamorous things, witnessed some not so wonderful things, and been hurt by the ones I thought I could trust. I’m in this with you when I wish I could get rid of my memories but I hope this helps.
I’m a poet. My memories have caused me to write some beautiful poetry that I have gotten published recently. Place yourself in a story, as a character, and write the memories away in a story, a poem, a novel, whatever you like. Soon the memories will be there and you’ll forget that they are yours. Live through your writing. I hope this helps you.
But there is no way to forget. The bad memories will haunt you for the rest of your life, how do I know? I have them too. But ap is right; find a creative way to channel them that takes the edge off, you never know it may work…
Thanks, I’ll try and see if there might be something for me.
Want to really just get rid of the memories completely, like they never happened. But I’m willing to try anything that might help me get over the pain memories cause. Is there anyone who has tried other things like hypnosis or have other tips on how to delete a bunch of memories for good?
chibi I’ve been diagnosed with Complex-PTSD and my psychiatrist suggested a therapy that involves the eyes and training the mind to not feel emotional pain whenever it think of the bad memories. Sorry I forget what the therapy is called exactly, not that I’d be able to get it where I live anyway…
Im sorry that you feel that way. I used to think that ending it all was the right option for me but now its been 2 years since I last thought so. Now Im just trying to find a way to “delete” my memories that I cant live with so that I can move on with my life instead off looking backwards.
I really hope that you find something in life that makes you want to stay alive Shelly and that allows you to build new happy memories instead of having to live with those who hurt you so badly that you feel sick about them. That you find something that makes you feel like there is not only one way out.
I know that some days are worse than others. I wake up almost every night from nightmares about the man that made me carry all these painful memories. And thats why I want to forget them, so I dont have to live in fear for the rest of my life. So that I can just focusing on living..
Shelly,
The eye and mind therapy I didn’t hear of being a medical practice in the market, so could you enlighten me with that of how it works ?
And the method I suggested to Gina was only based on the theory of how a brain can affect an eye.
That is right brain affects left eye.

There are some days when the memories come flooding back and intrude on my present so badly that it just overwhelms me, and makes me feel sick…
But I don’t wanna forget, more I just don’t wanna live…
