Are human beings meant to be reliable – particular, family, spouses/partners and close friends? Should we ever expect mortals to be responsible for us, or are we expected (and by who?) to rely only on ourselves?
I’m confused. I have heard people say that “Man was made with a need for each other”. What exactly do we need from others that they can realistically give us? Therein also begs the question – why would they give us what we need?

Humans aren’t meant to be anything. Humans that need other humans are needy. Humans take what life gives them and learn from the experience, good or bad.
Also, we aren’t expected to do anything. There is no right or wrong way to act, except for what is morally right. You get a lesson and you learn from it.
We shouldn’t expect anything from anyone, except from ourselves. Even then, we can forgive ourselves when we make mistakes, which we all do.
And how do I know what you think is true? (Particularly, that humans are meant o be anything.)
Was that a rhetorical question then?
What are your take on it?

You asked if humans are meant to be reliable, etc. And the answer is no, because humans are humans and we make mistakes. We are all learning, there is no reliablilty test for humans. In fact, it’s the unreliable humans we learn the most from.
