I wrote this earlier…its just an opinion and please excuse the foul language :)

People do “care,” but just caring isn’t enough. Plus, lots of people have been forced to develop learned “shields” against things that bother them; “thick skin” if you will; and why? because they do care. They care enough that it would bother them too much to embrace the problems, and it would be “too hard” to live the way the correct solutions would require… or to even discover them in the first place.

The world doesn’t want to change. It wants to be as it is. That’s why it often seems that people “don’t care,” or that “everyone is a moron.” It’s not necessarily about caring or intelligence. It’s about choosing what you want, despite the suffering it may (will) cause others. Most people do that. But then they have to “tell themselves” whatever works, so that they don’t have to feel bad about having chosen to benefit at the expense of others, without those others ever having a choice in the matter.

I personally don’t think of homeless people as “a shit stain on society.” I actually genuinely pity them… and if i had any resources to spare, i’d probably help each one who crossed my path, which would leave me with nothing to spare. But i don’t have resources to spare. I don’t even have enough for just myself.

Those who understand, cannot help. Those who can help, do not understand.

Everyone wants to blame the disadvantaged for their disadvantages, while taking all credit for the advantages they were afforded by others’ resources and choices.

Everyone blames the victims, while rewarding the villains, hailing them as “heroes.”

If everyone who sees it, understands it, and wants to change it, “quits”… what future will that create?

You don’t have to care. You’re not obligated. No one is. But if those like us, who suffer for perceiving the truth of the harsh realities of this world, do nothing… who will do what needs to be done? Who will even know what should be done?

Honestly, i think “the way it is” is pretty heavy evidence in support of “natural selection” being the most reasonably accurate explanation of why the world’s creatures act the ways we do.
