As I read the stories about all the horrible things some of you have experienced, it makes me think about why those things have happened. It is NOT because you are ugly. It is NOT because you arent worth it. It is NOT because you aren’t kind, or smart, etc. There are people out there who are just bad people. They see your sadness as a vulnerability and take advantage of that to poison you with hatred. Do not let them win, do not let them turn your sadness into bitterness. Love always stands strongest in the end. This will be the last time that I will be posting. This has just been a chapter in my life that I would not trade for anything. Where I plan to go, that I do not know. I hope that I have had an influence on your lives and that you will always remember that you are strong. You are beautiful. You are important. Every night I will look up at the sky, and I hope that you will be looking with me. Who knows? I might even run into one of you one day. Do not be sad, it’s not what I want either. You people have taught me so much and given me some of the love that I possess today. I hope that I have shared my love with you, and that one day you will understand how beatiful you all are. I have signed up to enlist in the army, to protect the people that I love. I hope that even when I am gone, you will remember me as I will remember you.

Democracy does not protect the Minority from the will of the majority.
A constitutional republic, in theory, should.
If you do indeed fight for something… remember that it is the freedom declared, preserved and protected by that constitution, and not false promises of security.

Love always stands strongest in the end. <- with that statement you lost me (i read the whole post tho). Every time i've decided to love and to fight for love i've been utterly crushed. I'd say self convenience stands strongest in the end in today's world. But hey, if it works for you, great.
Self respect is probably stronger than love.
I’d keep self respect on the 2nd spot depending on the person (sometimes love would go first). 1st self convenience, 2nd self respect, 3rd love <- that would be my average "stands strongest" order nowadays. And there's the weird one-in-every-million specimens that put love above all things. Those suffer the most.
– Your ACU trousers are bloused to not fall below the third row of eyelets on your boots.
– Settle your rounds in a freshly replenished magazine by givin’ it a good tap against your helmet.
– Place extra strapping tape around the heel, ankle and ball of both feet to prevent chaffing and stop your newly issued boots from turning your feet into shaved ham.
– Don’t forget to close the ejection port on your rifle/machine gun once you’ve actioned the weapon (it’ll pop open again, but it teaches you to not forget that it’s there).
– The Platoon Sergeant will ride you like a carousel; get used to it.
– “One foot in front of the other”… Remember that when you’re slogging it 25 klicks ‘cross a barren landscape with all your earthly possessions on your back. Don’t fall out of the pack march – you’ll only give Sergeant an almighty hard-on.

Other than that, good luck. You’re fairly young (16-18 going by your first post) but I was a similar age anyway. Just don’t go all Gomer Pyle and kill someone/yourself either – Basick ain’t that hard, you just gotta give it a good ol’ rogering.
