Does anyone else ever stop and think just how impressive this sight is? not the people on it (who are all unique and amazing in their own way) but the very sight itself that allows people from all over the world to reach out and get help from people who know what they are going through. a site that focus’s on helping people survive and where possible “get better”. For a group of people so devoid of hope it seems to be a beacon of strength and that hope that so many lost, what an utterly incredible place. I would love to know just how many life’s this site alone has saved since it started, a rather huge number i wager, my own included of course. Id just like to say a thank you to its creator for giving us a place to find help and hope, and the admins for keeping the place going, not an easy task at times id imagine but one i do appreciate. Its hard to imagine what life would be like without this little gem of a sight providing refuge from the struggles of life. I wonder what i would be like (whether i would be anything at all) without the help this place has given.

In a sick and twisted way. Reading about other peoples misery and struggle with life. Gives me hope and gives me a sense of not being alone, eventho I spent just about every waking hour alone. Might seem stupid and arrogant. This site has without a doubt saved many lives.
@jensen, i dont think its sick or twisted, its what this sight was built for, to let you know that you arent alone and that others are still fighting that fight. on here we are never alone my friend.
I agree this site is very helpful to a lot of people. This site has helped me for over a year now.
Its a unique site and I hope it continues to help people forever.

This site is a light in the darkness. The fact that we can be a community and support system for each other, something that many of us lack offline, is amazing. Thank you SP admins, thank you to all the lovely members, and thank you Procel for this positive post. I may not know any of you beautiful souls offline, but I love you anyway. I feel we are one big family.
@hiohneh yes, this is exactly it. I was wondering were other people taking the time to realise just how wonderful a place this is. Yes this is one huge family, we should create a post of everyone’s position in that family some time, be amusing to say the least lol
I had asked admin once if they would tell us about the site. About the person who created it or why they chose to. Sadly they declined. It would be nice though to talk to the creator I think and the admins more (instead of only to tell them when there is a issue). Although once when I was making a gift for a user here (a journal with entries from others on the site) admin did send me something to add in it. I thought that was gracious.

I have been to other suicide sites/forums and the people don’t understand a thing.
everyone should want to live apparently, according to some people there…
thankfully some people here actually DO understand, because not everyone who is depressed is ‘ill’ and they will take some medicine and be happy again. Its like saying there is something WRONG with the person, when the only thing that is actually WRONG is society. Take all the meds in the world, it wont fix society. Why do people gather on this website? Society is just not good enough. That doesn’t make us ‘wrong’ or ‘ill’, although some people are actually ill. But I’ll stop there, i don’t want to sound or look ignorant. I mean both physical and mental illnesses do exist
