Animes you would recommend?

by _darkness

I like dark, morbid animes.  Death and superpowers and ninjas.  I like the more “intellectual” animes, ones that make you think or have a deeper plot.  I love Death Note but haven’t watched anything else similar to Death Note I could find.  I also liked Bleach and Hunter x Hunter.  Help me find something good to watch  😛

I recommend Elfen lied, and Attack on titans. They are both quite dark and good animes.

Elfen Lied is a classic!!

Berserk, it’s old looking, but incredible.

Hellsing OVA, it seems kinda cliche, but damn the animation is genius, absolutely incredible.

Blade of the immortal is pretty gnarly, it has ninja and gore.

Kuroshitsuji, is just weird, super good. The first episode sucked me in, and I didn’t look back.

Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, which I actually need to finish, but holy shit that is the creepiest anime.

Another, super creepy gore horror anime, great mysterious plot full of gruesome death.

I’ve never watched anime, unless you count the Aeon Flux shorts that ran on MTv (effin awesome btw), but one that I want to catch is Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Years ago I saw an amazing movie called Shiki-jitsu (Ritual), and I found out the director did anime (Neon Genesis Evangelion). It’s supposedly pretty intense, focusing on the messed up psychological issues of the main characters.
