Common sense but I guess society as a whole lacks some. Why force someone to live a life they don’t want? Who cares if others mourn for you? I don’t. I really don’t care if someone would be saddened or not. How others “feel” about suicide shouldn’t even be relevant to begin with. It should be strictly the individuals choice.
It’s too bad my survival instinct gets in the way. Strange how that works, where you as a person want to die but a part of your brain won’t let you. What kind of messed up design is that..? I find it strange how your brain even has the capability to feel suicidal in the first place. Well whatever, I already gave up on this life, I just need a good, easy method and I am gone.
Being a human is pathetic in my eyes. It feels below me. I hate it. It’s pointless anyways. Reasons for living are subjective and I know for a fact this world can never satisfy me anymore.
Why not let people commit suicide to clean up the gene pool? It makes no sense. Maybe in the long-term, it would even actually help the economy since if someone who is suicidal reproduces, they have a higher chance of having offspring that are also suicidal so it’s better to solve the problem before it become too fixated into the population.
Suicide prevention makes no sense to me. There is nothing wrong with death.
Assisted suicide should be legalized to all who want it. Why doesn’t society promote this if it is a way to clean up the gene pool AND ease suffering? Makes no sense.

I do care if my family mourns, I’ve not got family that I live with every day (recent change) but I have got close family.
Even if they do mourn though my need not to be here outweighs theirs. They’ll get over it.
Same. I purposely created distance over years. I’m no longer an essential part of their lives and so I feel better about leaving because of it.
I believe in an individual’s right to make this choice, but I definitely don’t see it as “cleaning up the gene pool”. There is nothing inferior about somebody who feels suicidal due to any of a number of reasons. I am not some disease that needs to be removed from the earth and neither is my child.
I’m not sure if I want it to be legalized or simply decriminalized (in the United States it’s not actually a criminal offence, but it is de facto a criminal act since they can lock you up against your will and revoke certain Constitutional rights for trying).
I certainly don’t want those in positions of power to take on the attitude of “cleaning up the gene pool” and selecting the citizens they choose to put to death. It has happened before, and it could happen again.
I know what you mean (ethnic cleansing) but that is why I say it should be the individuals choice, not the government’s.
I guess I shouldn’t say the government should “promote” it, just simply have it as an option. Then again, I doubt people would like their tax payer money being used for this. Suicidal people can never really win can they? Too bad there isn’t some simple method (there’s the gun option but I got that right taken away from me because of my suicidal behavior in the past).
The points you make here are why I suggested decriminalize rather than legalize.
Ya actually that would be better. I want my gun rights back and tax payer money wouldn’t be wasted.
Yeah there is nothing wrong with taking your own life. It is YOUR life. But the reason why assisted suicide isn’t an option for everyone is because then a lot of people would go that route. Why would they want to deal with how unfair life is? A lot of people would choose that and the world needs labor in order to operate. It makes a lot of sense if you think about it.
I think it should just be regulated where only those who have a record of mental problems pertaining to suicide (say 3+ years) should have the option. Ya I know I’m just dreaming. The only way this would be plausible I imagine would be if someone could make an argument as to how assisted suicide could benefit the economy somehow.
I’m not so sure if it’s a good idea to tell everybody here that they’re poisoning the gene pool and that society would be better off without them. That’s incredibly cruel, and most of us have suffered more than enough cruelty already.
Rights are something to be fought for. I guess the right to peaceful suicide wouldn’t be very popular since those who enjoy such right wouldn’t be around.
I think the problem is that so many of us are suicidal and not getting the help we need. Not that society makes it hard for us to kill ourselves.
I completely understand how you feel. We never asked to be here, we should have the right to leave if we don’t agree with the general masses that this life is a gift. There are children that are suicidal, even if their parents treated them well. For many suicidal people, their survival instinct is just too strong, and there aren’t a lot of pain free ways to die, hence too many of us are still here. As for our families, they should focus more on the fact that we are no longer in so much mental and emotional pain when we finally die. Grief is normal, sure, but to be far more sad for oneself rather than happy that they’re no longer in pain is just selfish.
