I have my money, and enough food for me to last me a little while, all I need is a destination far from home.

I support you on this. I have done this a few times in life and it has always worked out for the best for me… it even helped me to survive what could have been a nasty confrontation with some people. What I have to say. Is if you want this to work. You have to PLAN
and luckily we have the internet that we can use to plan and the internet makes it SO EASY compared to how hard it was before the internet.
You can use online resources like Craigslist > to search out areas… and find out about Jobs in certain areas. Rooms to rent and what the cost of renting a room is.
You can find out other information too… like what the economy is like in areas and where available resources are and so forth.
So if you want this to work. PLAN. I suggest finding a place that is not super cold so you can survive outdoors for a while if you need too.
Also look for HOSTELs in the area where you intend to move too… because hostels
are places where you can stay for a while for cheap.
I have found hostels for like 15 dollars a night > and you get a bed and a shower.
and usually a light breakfast.
also look at what jobs are available in areas you are considering because you will eventually need a job to be able to support yourself
also look for a room to rent from somebody or an apartment if you can afford it
also look into what it would cost to travel to these places. Sometimes traveling by bus is a good way to go because its cheap and its easy to just go and get a ticket. all you need is an ID and some cash and you can grab a greyhound to just about anywhere you want to go.
also if you don’t have a car.. you might want to consider an area that has public transportation > like bus system or a subway and all of that
because when you get there you are going to need to get around back and forth to work and
so forth. SO if you dont have a car you would want to be traveling by public transportation
I suggest trying one of the smaller size cities… because they have all the stuff you need to survive but they are cheaper to live in then the fancy cities
do a web search for AFORDABLE PLACES TO LIVE
and read up on places and find out what area has all that you need to survive
you can do this. But again. if you want this to be successful
PLAN. use the internet to PLAN
if you just jump out there with no plan you might fail and wind up on the streets

probably a good idea to remember to tell that while it did work out for you and might even have been good for you, it doesn’t turn out so in the majority of cases, and not necessarily something to be recommended for all/most
especially when it’s a child, teen or generally young person
depending on the age or where a person are, even something like a valid ID can be difficult to obtain, or even get proper around, some places can’t even sell you a bed for the night if you are on your own and aren’t 18
even if one has money, without a decent method of income(that doesn’t involve something illicit which it of turn out in those cases) then even with cheap hostels, what money one might have had, can quickly dry up
and that’s if one doesn’t get robbed in the hostel or generally screwed over, or other places
and if one doesn’t have the skill, “wits”/”street smarts”/social skills to handle the situations that can arise on the adventure it can get even worse
the younger the person is usually the worse it turn out, statistically not so well in most of the cases, and even with places or programs to help rebound still doesn’t turn out well for most, since a lot of places are not only filled to the brim and turn away a lot of people many places are also inefficient and can offer little more than a meal or roof for a night, even for older people,
more experienced and “wise” and trained/skilled/educated people that do turn out ok rebounding, most still don’t, much less younger people even more those that don’t poses the same abilities because of inexperience or even something small like running away early before learning “essentials” in school, or too distressed or distraught to deal with things, ending in a negative spiral.
thinking things will get better by running away is like thinking one will win the lottery, sure it “can” happen, but fuckin hell are the chances slim, and the younger a person is the smaller the chance is
better ways exists, to deal, cope or ways to change the causes for running away, better to recommend and try that first, second, third, fourth and so on before eventually settling and trying the runaway “lottery ticket” and the desperate escape journey
(fuck me this didn’t turn out so well or like the first draft, fucking god damn crash deleted, but hope the gist of it came across still)

If you would like > email me > I can give you a lot of tips on how to make this work
and send you some links that you can read and find useful
again if you want this to work out and make a life for yourself you have to PLAN

can’t helped but get a bit irked by this, recommending to run away to a 15yo, even with “planning”, is just not conscionable, and i utterly detest the notion of supporting it in such way like a “fun adventure”, instead of trying to help the situation in another way,
the stats for teen runaway “success” stories are not exactly encouragingly great, more like scarily sad…
