I’ve seen this disussion on here before, but when your having a nice dream, and you come back to reality, maybe takes 20 seconds to be aware of your surroundings, and then you realise your back here again. Worst feeling in the world.
beyond worst feeling
completely shattering
can be like literally being ripped from “heaven” and back your own personal hell
i think i might even shared a (quite lengthy) post of mine of such experience..
to me, i think there is nothing worse, doesn’t even matter when it’s an actual nightmare, there are just days, when you wake up to something so much more terrifying..
it’s one of the reasons i don’t believe in/fear hell, because there is just noway Earth/this isn’t already it.
I’ve had nightmares or disturbing dreams pretty much everyday, for a few years now. If I’m really lucky, I’ll have a dream that is just weird but neutral (peaceful).
Most days, I’m forced to relive the past in my dreams – dead relatives or relatives I don’t talk to anymore, ex-girlfriends I would much rather never think about, taking classes in college and about to fail, or at my last horrid job and about to be fired … that’s pretty much guaranteed every night.
I haven’t had a nice dream in years, so waking up, to me, is almost always a huge relief.
The few really nice dreams I remember having in my life were often so good that they boosted my mood for a whole day or two when they occurred.
I had a dream once that I was super rich and had a mansion and wife etc etc. I woke up still Totally in a daze and reached over to my bedstand to grab a handful of cash only to become fully awake and realize I had picked up my alarm clock. That was disappointing lol.
The worst for me was waking up alone, on a holiday, after a dream involving me and a girl who didn’t know I was alive. At the time, I was pretty much consumed/obsessed with her, but she didn’t feel anything for me but friendship. The dream was passionate and heated, and my stupid alarm clock went off – on a holiday – and I still remember the crushing, depressing feeling of reality setting in. Sigh. Plus I had to get up to go to the bathroom also. Sigh sigh.
I had a dream last night where I was hanging out with some people. After a bunch of crazy stuff happened, I guess my brain was telling me it was time to get up for the day, so I said to them, “None of this was real. You’re in my dream right now. I should probably wake up.” So we walked out from a cafe into a parking lot, and one guy decided that to ‘wake up’ he should get hit by a vehicle. He walked over in front of a bus. I cringed, just in case it wasn’t a dream, but when the bus moved away, he had completely disappeared. No blood. I was relieved, and looked around for a way for me to get out of that ‘reality.’ A few seconds later I was awake in my bed.
Wow. That sounds like a lucid dream, where you are in control of the dream to some extent. Do you have many like that? I’d love to experience some form of control over a dream.
