I wanted to belong to somewhere… a home type of thing.. a feeling that from here… no one’s gonna take my place because it’s mine. That place. Like clouds belong to the sky. Some place that gives me a feeling of ‘mine’. For years I have lingered with several people but didn’t belong to them after some time. A religion that wants to call me and tell me ‘It’s your home now, it’s for you’ or a relation that doesn’t fade with time. A relation as deep as some abyss without a bottom I die… they die we both die and for true for real. A cave is also a good idea the cave that was finding me since time immemorial and I feel an attachment to it. Or some language that I can take and pursue for ever learning it because it means something profound in my life and I don’t leave that language it becomes a part of me. Or a signal that I have been on Earth before and my essence is still there that I have a meaning I mean something. A different name… my old self. Or some alien guidance that tells me I’m a starseed accidentally dropped and will be taken aback with restored bealth.
Just belong…. belong so much it becomes me.

Like some of us, I often wonder if we are here for a reason, or if we’re just the result of perfect environmental conditions. I’m leaning more and more towards the perfect environmental conditions thing, but when I lean the other way, I believe that one of the possible reasons we’re here, fumbling our way along, is to FIND that reason, that language, cave, or cloud that is unique to the sky that is us. It’s a cruel thought, that someone, be it alien or god, would drop us off here with no guidebook then leave, but isn’t that so typical of our day to day struggles? “Here’s today’s challenges – deal with them. There’ll be more tomorrow.” A sense of belonging takes time, and during that time is the constant of change. A hell of a challenging combination.
Soooo true. Really it is unfair. I mean how are we supposed to know. Sometimes I just stick to the matrix and simulation idea because it solves most queries also noted by the scientists that It solves most queries we have. But also the idea of merging out from the universe like the galaxies have and like stars have just that…. we have some very different functions provided to us that the planets and stars don’t seem to have. Also I believe in a greater power sometimes I don’t.
The arguments for and against an intelligent designer/God are many.
When I consider this, I am forced to look at the patterns in nature that exist and repeat, growing exponentially larger. From the complex structure of a grain of sand to the concepts of dark matter and dark energy, there is order and structure to the universe, and I cannot accept that it happened into existence without intelligent thought.
Who or what may be responsible is too immense for my feeble mind to comprehend, and maybe it did just happen by accident, or with no forethought. But – REALLY? Do we need to be SO arrogant as to assume that in a universe in which our planet is as common as every grain of sand on every beach that “we” are the top of the heap
? Hmmm. I better get off my soap box.
If there is an intelligent designer, I’d say that at best, he’s an underachiever. I mean, the platypus? That’s just borrowing stuff from other animals and putting them together and going, “Yay, I made a original thing!”
Lol. And some of the stuff you see in those documentaries about life in the deepest parts of the ocean. Basketball size eyeballs and teeth like a great white, blue ink coming out its nose. Ok, lovely.
If you look around, how can you deny God or that there is something BIGGER than you! I agree with Chip.
Even if you just want to think the “universe” is bigger than you, fine. But there is a Creator of the universe!
Anyway, I went through the same thing, longing to belong somewhere. I went through some bad times and it led me to believe in God. It was my own experience. If you’re seeking God or even alien guidance, go about it with an open mind and heart. It will be revealed to you.
I choose to believe this isn’t my home planet. There is somewhere else I belong. While on this planet, be a blessing right where you are! Help out a family member. Help out anywhere you can while you are still here. There’s a purpose for you being here.
heyyy 🙂
first of all, well written as usual… Bravo ! 🙂
second,
i think, nothing & no one would ever give you a warmer & safer sense of belonging than
religion
& because i really do love you
i’d more than gladly invite you to join me 🙂
but i don’t wanna impose anything on you
so i just truly pray you find true guidance regarding this matter
but to speak generally,
I think going with the intelligent designer concept would win every time
even though still not all questions would be answered
cause no matter how much you understand about the world
there are very little things you’d be able to know about that designer himself
& this leaves you with one option
“belief” / “faith”
to just “believe” in this concept, even if you don’t “know”
i think that is the essence of any religion
again, i truly pray nothing less than the best of the best comes to you
love u loads

We are social beings. The need to belong is a very strong one. Look at media, sports, advertising, frats & sororities, clubs, etc. I hope you find that need fulfilled, and not by learning some language but by relationship with person(s) who get you and accept you for who you are, not what you do. Yeah.
