I guess you focus on the basics then, eating enough, sleeping enough, daily tasks, and so forth. Taking it day by day and hour by hour, forcing oneself to do those things.
Maybe a more sufficient answer is to relieve the pressure of needing to be motivated, allow oneself some slack. Motivation, success, progress, determination, drive, ambition, vigor, guts, forward progress, acceleration, competition, completion, . . . Ever listen to “Grand Illusion ” by Styx? “America spells competition, join us in our blind ambition. . . We made the grade, and still we wonder who the hell we are.” Yeah, exactly. We kicked major ass, got motivated and took charge. Now, uhh, who are we?
Why, why, why must being alive be all about all of these? The world would not be what it is without these. Is that bad? Where, in The Great All Encompassing Manual of Being A Human Being, which absolutely none of us has ever seen a copy, is the instruction to be constantly motivated, ever vigilant, and always cognizant of the need to complete?
That’s all ludicrous, but really, the pressure we insist on living under. . . why?

Why do you ask?

Wait.

The problem is that I haven’t been motivated in YEARS :/
Either dwell on the past or visit my fantasy world for a while.
