Hello, SP.
This has been consistently happening since a month or two back now. What has been happening is that I sometimes repeat typed words in a single sentence, while the sentence in my head is whole. But I don’t just repeat it. I replace the word before the repeated word with the word that comes after it.
For example I thought of the sentence “I want to go to the grocery store”. But instead I typed out “I want to go the the grocery store”.
I looked around and thought about that I might have developed Palilalia. A type of language disorder. But I don’t now. I haven’t noticed myself repeating syllables or whole phrases. Just words.
I’m wondering if anyone know of this type of behavior, or has experienced something similar?

Thanks for your post. I used to repeat phrases from sentences just spoken softly under my breath. It never occurred to me that this could have been a speech disorder, or more precisely per wiki, a language disorder. I just googled it now. Yep: palilalia. The behavior went away on it’s own years ago. But thanks for posting, now I at least know the disorder has a name.
Not sure what it is called when it affects typing. But I googled it and you are not alone.
I’m glad my post let you know the name of the disorder. I don’t think it affects when I speak. But I can only say that because I don’t really speak often at all. But it just happened again. I was gonna write “out about” but wrote “about about”. It’s consistently the word before the repeated word that gets replaced with the word after it.
