I’ve been thinking about the world a bit differently and realized everyone is ensalved to their needs. Think about it you love people cause you want to be loved. You lust for people to feed your reproductive needs. You make money to survive in the society. You make friends to feel less lonely. You eat cause your hungry. There’s nothing more to life but feeding your needs that’s all we are or were programmed to do.
aside from that Ive learned to try and help others so they can feed there needs. we should all became more selfless, and put others before us even though they probably won’t do the same.

I was kinda wondering what you’ve been up to now that you’re retired from the presidency. Sorry to see you’ve wound up on this site, Mr. Obama.
Also: Don’t you think using the term “slave” is a bit excessive in describing our current state? A slave is forced into slavery, he/she has no say in the matter. Don’t we as individuals have the power to circumvent our innate programming and rewrite our coding?
Maybe, maybe not.
Ever since trump got elected man I’ve been on suicide watch aside from that think about it we are brought in this world without our own say in the process it is kinda like slavery we all give our needs in order to be happy, also some us are put in better position (good looking,wealthy..) then others
You’re kewel, BO, chicks dig ya and you were prez for 8 years, plus you’re rich. Don’t off yourself just yet.
Yeah, no one asks to be born. We don’t choose our parents or our socio-economic status in the before life, we just play the hand the cosmic dealer tosses our way. Say La Vie.
Slaves can always run away, you know. It’s an perilous option, but an option nonetheless.
(Not condoning or encouraging suicide).
Ah, even empathy has evolutionary origins; what is perceived as selfless is in fact a useful trait for our species’ survival, passed on over generations. The motivation then is arguably one of self-interest, to perpetuate our purpose.
Evolution always plays a role and decisions/motivations are predominantly through self-interest (in this case Self also constitutes species). Most decisions are emotional, overpowering logic, and even law; they are in the interests of self, and by extension species.
Of course there’s a distinction in effect, with personal positive or negative outcomes which are measurable. Society’s acceptance or disapproval also influences our perspective, thereby defining our moral compass and subsequent emotional reaction. What we perceive as positive is rewarding, though it amounts to the same: perpetuation of species. Ethical right or wrong is, sadly, often defined by what the person deems as beneficial or disadvantageous. It’s just wrapped up to make it more palatable.
A very interesting point thanks for sharing.
“A slave is forced into slavery, he/she has no say in the matter.”
The same could be said about every human that was forced to be born. We are forced to live and suicide methods are limited.
“Don’t we as individuals have the power to circumvent our innate programming and rewrite our coding”
I would say no because it’s written in our DNA (and possibly other locations) to be exactly what we are. You can’t just force yourself to change as a person just as you can’t pick and choose how a particular food taste. It’s out of our hands.
Basically everything is based on LUCK and all we can do is endure. I loathe the concept of luck. Will power means nothing in this world. Just genes and resources.
This happened to me before (glitch or whatever) but I replied to the wrong person (even though I clicked the correct person to respond to).
Was I the only one who flinched at the juxtaposation of “barackobama” and “slaves”? Then again, not my place to say anything, I’m white, I have no skin in the game.
I’m reading a book called Loneliness, by John Cacioppo, and it talks about the fact that natural (and sexual) selection happens on the level of genes, not organisms. So you are sort of just a vessel for your various genes to reproduce. This concept was popularized with the publication of The Selfish Gene.
But then it gets more complicated, in the sense that genes interact with the organism’s environment, and are turned on or off accordingly. For humans, the social environment plays a very important role, as we are a highly social species.
The reason people mostly treat each other all right is that it simply makes better sense. If you picked fights with everyone, especially back when we lived in small tribes surrounded by large predators, you wouldn’t survive very long.
