I guess most people eat 3 meals a day, but was just wondering how much do people really eat? Do you eat 3 big meals a day? 3 small meals? Eat 5 cuz no one’s looking? Snack all day long? Eat just 1 big meal a day? Guess I’m hungry and thinking of food. Well, I’m always thinkin’ of food.
They say males should consume 2500 calories/day and females 2000. I wonder how much do people actually consume? What would your guess be? (don’t forget to count all that cheese and dressing and bacon bits lol)
It’s funny, sometimes when I don’t eat, I actually feel better and less sluggish.

I kinda follow the three meals a day routine, but I also snack a lot. Night time is a problem, I get cravings for sweets then, and that’s not good. I smoke pot too at times, so sugar cravings are an issue. There’s so many opinions and ideas about what to eat and when to eat it that I’ve given up trying to keep imformed. Besides, in a few years, “they” will announce that all the old nutritional guidelines no longer apply, and we should all be eating something different. Blah blah blah. No idea how many calories I take in. I just look at my gut for an indication of whether or not I’m eating healthy. I used to be uber active, but been having major back issues the past few years, so that’s a challenge.
People eat whatever other people tell them to eat. I guess it’s diet thing.
I skip breakfast often because my stomach cannot process food well in the morning (yea it’s a disease) and also because I tend to sleep until 11:30 am so I just wait until lunch. I eat something sweet in the middle of the afternoon (cake, ice cream or chocolate) and dinner at night. I don’t really know how much calories I consume with my current eating habits, but when I was younger (and not suicidal) I actually ate 2000 calories, but my habits were waay different back then.
I’m a vegetarian so I have to eat more portions during the day. I still get cravings for pizza at least once a week though so I could never go vegan.
Just once a week? 😛
Man, I get the pizza cravings all the time…
That’s why I said at least once a week 🙂
lol dude, once a week to me is like not bad at all. i get pizza cravings ALL the time, which is bad. I just had a crappy pizza 10min ago and already I’m craving the good pizza (too lazy to get to that place).
Oddly enough, I feel MORE hungry now that I just ate…
Lol are you a Ninja Turtle or something?
They make non-dairy cheese that ain’t half bad.
3-5 times a week, I try not to have too much sugar, I used to get cravings but not so much now… unless its salted caramel maybe xD
you eat 3-5 times a WEEK, or 3-5 times a DAY?
lol i meant a day, whoopsie 😛
lol big difference
I eat twice a day. 2 small pizza slices in the morning a small muffin at noon and than a meal in the evening that’s all
I am over weight and need to eat less. Exercising more unfortunately has not had any effect on my weight. I eat 3 big meals a day. I always feel better after eating.
Apart from the obvious solution of consuming less than you burn, so far, some of the more convincing advice I have read is to cut out sugar and grains, and lift heavy weights.
I find it extremely hard to live without grains, I felt very lethargic, but maybe I was too impatient. Idk. But it certainly felt like I was getting thinner, which I didn’t really want, I just wanted to feel healthier. I literally felt like my body was withering away and I was becoming this small skinny dude. The best thing I found to replace grains was lots of potato, but they also say to eat plenty of healthy fats, and plenty of vegetables.
Regarding the weightlifting, it changes your hormone balance (don’t go doping or shit like that), which speeds up your metabolism. This is more effective for losing weight than doing lots of cardio. Good luck.
On weekdays, I eat a little in the morning, then nothing at work, then a lot from I get home till bedtime. Super unhealthy pattern. I dunno. My life is a major mess.
Two small meals daily, plus one snack. My total intake varies between 500-800 calories. Today I consumed 565 calories.
