Silent Screams

I lay in my bed.
Fetal position.
Room dark as night.
My mouth opens up, a silent scream escapes.
Hot tears stream down my face.
I feel like I’m going to pass out.
I inhale steady and quiet my breathing.
“Are you going to bed already?”, he asks.
“Yes, I think I am.”, I say to him ever so calmly, for I battle my demons alone and I pray that one night they’ll take me, I hope.
