I have had the same ruminating thought for more than a month all day from the day I wake up until I go to sleep. It’s driving me crazy it’s a bad thought. Any suggestions on how to alleviate some of the pain. I have a Dr appointment next Wednesday don’t know if I will make it please please any suggestions.

What helps me sometimes is to distract as many senses as possible.
Sound: Play music, or listen to birds, or hear a cat purring.
Sight: Read a book or magazine, Watch a movie, Google things.
Scent: candles, aromatherapy oils, the pages of a new book.
Taste: Have a treat. Make a snack.
Touch: Pet a cat or dog. Collect some interesting smooth stones that fit in the palm of your hand. I have an embarrassingly large collection of Fisher spinners that help.
The more senses you can distract, the less room your brain has to ruminate on other stuff.

I make things out of those little magnetic balls. I think they’re called Bucky Balls. I also like to make things to give away. Having a pet is also a way to stay calm. Nothing beats a purring cat!
