I think it’s easy to see everyone else as happier than us. That’s part of the problem I have with our culture: unless you know someone very very well, you’re compelled to act happy. But other people are a lot less happy than they seem. Most other people are broken and hurting too. Don’t let that get you down.
I am talking about people that I know. Not strangers, not acquaintances. I don’t care about the people that I don’t know whether or not they are genuinely happy. It’s the people that I do know.

We are affected for our whole lives. Sometimes the restoration, if there is one, makes a better than original, but certainly not a duplicate.
Sigh, life is so damn depressing. Especially when I see other people I know so damn happy and their lives so damn good.

Agreed. We are flawed as people in that we see things through our own eyes, and not through the eyes of others..
Lots of people struggle. Not everyone is living a happy and extremely stable life, despite how things seem..
It tends to be helpful to find people who can relate to your own individual struggles and gravitate toward them, like posting on here, for example.
Taking things small may help in that regard? One thing at a time?

Is it because you can’t be happy for other people or more like sitting on the opposite side of the glass, watching everyone else enjoying the party?
I guess the real question is, if you were at the party, would you be enjoying it?

Forever is a long time. I can’t even remember what I was doing yesterday.
