Kintsukuroi (“golden repair”)
the Japanese art of repairing broken
pottery with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum, a method similar to the maki-e technique. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.
“The flaw is seen as a unique piece of the objects history, which adds to its beauty”
I like to use this to remind myself or other that being broken isn’t a terrible thing, its something beautiful, to know what you’ve struggled through in life and yet still remain.
People often forget how strong they have been or are being, because their minds are crowded with dark thoughts and pain.
Every day you struggle, you are being strong, because you are fighting against it, that’s why it’s a struggle.
