“The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity.”
I thought about this poem by Yeats often when I stayed in the hospital. I even thought it a funny pun for the situation I was in… ‘the Centre cannot hold’ and its dual meaning for a centre that is supposed to hold you until safe but really only caters to worst case scenario/emergency situation (violent/schizophrenic/multiple diagnoses, etc.), and throws anti-depressants at the rest…then wonders why there are people in cyclical suicidal ideation. We’re treated as least common denominator types while we function in the world, and when we get locked up due to our mental health issues, it’s still not good enough to warrant true care or listening. Never enough on either end. Both of these segments of society, though, claim they want to help those with mental health problems.
It’s as if society’s goal to ‘lift the stigma’ from mental illness is really more intended to make themselves feel better about having been shitty judgmental people in the past. If they truly cared about those that had mental health issues, there’d be more willing to sit and listen or give two shits about how those afflicted were feeling. Not just a therapist for $100 an hour, who is then required to listen regardless.
I could really use someone to talk to, just as s friend. My email is atlasbleeding1@gmail.com
Thanks

I would imagine that your category would be under “anxiety,” rather than, mental-health issue, which would be more like, motor-boat. That’s pretty much it.
Anxiety, from what I’ve seen, is connected by, other underlying issues, like those, anorexic type, perhaps.. or whatever other… disability that’s out there, Queen, Elixabeti. Priest, at your service. =B
Anxiety, usually depicts, something extreme is going on. You.. could be right, though, about the conviction, thing. But, oh-well, right?
To Jesus, Christ. Amen.
