Correcting grammatical errors only irks the suicidal demographic. (English Majors aren’t plentiful here or elsewhere online, you have to interpret intended meanings yourself).
Lie, lay, I think he/she is referring to laying prone in a horizontal position on a well travelled roadway.
At times like this I wish Sylvia Plath was still with us. I know that is selfish of me but I am certain she could help us with our grammatical errors if only she were still with us.
