An Officer and a Gentleman

by Rainwatch
  1. There’s a suicide in the movie “An officer and a Gentleman”. It’s been a while since I’ve seen that movie but the scene in question I can recall vividly. The Richard Gere character cradles the lifeless body of his friend who moments earlier took his life and rebukes the dead friend with these questions  ” why didn’t you come to me?”  ” Why didn’t you talk about it?”. Both those questions strike a chord with me because I HAVE CAME TO MY LOVED ONES and I HAVE TALKED ABOUT IT. There’s is nothing more I can do. I exhibit every sign of a guy who will die by suicide, it can’t come as a surprise. My parents are approaching Seventy so my suicide will hasten their deaths but their approaching the final stage of their lives anyway. It’s my brother who will be hit hardest by my suicide as he’s still in his thirties. Suicide destroys families but for me there is no other way out, and I know deep down that I did reach out, I did give my family notice of what was going to happen and that brings some small relief. The worst suicide to handle has to be when there was no warning signs, that’s not the case with me, forewarned is forearmed they say.

before an unnecessary argument ensues let me explain things.
postalservice slightly unnecessary especially on a suicide site where people can be sensitive because of their past as i myself am 1 of them.
rainwatch highly unnecessary as you did say that “My parents are approaching Seventy so my suicide will hasten their deaths but their approaching the final stage of their lives anyway” and it really did seem like you didnt care. a comment like the one you made can kill someone and that should be thought about on a site like this. you have no idea their relationship with their mother so you have no way of knowing how much you hurt them. in my case i wouldnt care id say go ahead just get checked afterwards but it is not that way for everyone.

@Rainwatch
1) I’m completely sorry. I didn’t intend to sound insensitive. After seeing your posts/comments in the past, I perceived you as a smart and witty author. I didn’t know you really meant those words. Trust me on this, I’ve found my dad after he passed and wouldn’t put you down for something like that intentionally.
2)What do I look like to you? A yuppy with a Glock? my mom’s a hag!
-named it Sarah Mcglocklan -cause it’ll send a hater in the arms of an angel-
Anyways, I’m sorry lol

And, I hope you give yourself a chance, and I hope you don’t do that to yourself.
