This post isn’t about politics. I am not a Republican or Democrat (I hate them all, all the establishment shills), and I don’t care for Trump, but he did give us a good term- Fake News. This video is the definition of Fake News.
This is a good example of what our “news” is really like. This isn’t even political or covering anything controversial- just RAIN. But even coverage of something that’s just rain is being painted and pretended to be something it’s not. And this was 11 years ago, before the age of “Fake News.” This was back when people actually trusted the news. And we can’t even trust them to cover RAIN properly.
Is America really getting “better” news than ppl in third-world countries?
At least the people in authoritarian governments KNOW they are being fed propaganda. The American populace thinks we’re getting real and unbiased news, when we’re really being fed propaganda non-stop. On BOTH sides.

Kudos to the studio anchors for calling out their own reporter, that actually shows integrity. If that were today all the anchors would be covering for each other, or getting fired for not doing so.
Apparently fake news has been around since the 1800s, they called it “yellow journalism” back then. But it’s definitely gotten way worse with cable news & the internet streaming lies into our homes 24/7. And trump shouts it so often it’s like a form of punctuation for him.
What’s scarier to me than outright fake news is half-truth news, where they begin with a valid story but twist it into a lie. Fox News is the master of that domain, as we’ve seen with their successful legal defense “It’s just an opinion! I’m a talk show host so I can say whatever I want!” (as their viewers riot in the Capitol). One way or the other, it makes me sick. I wish they’d pass a law that penalizes any self-proclaimed news network that knowingly publishes false or misleading info. How hard can it be to set a minimum standard for calling yourself “news”? In some states they passed laws that say you can’t legally call a veggie burger a “burger”. Our legislators hard at work…
lol what’s wrong with calling it a veggie burger? as long as it’s plainly written that it’s veggie, and not meat. at least they’re still being honest. i’ve bought tons of veggie burgers in the past (will not eat those things again tho), but it’s always plainly written as veggie burger. wait- you know what, i take that back. it’s misleading to call it a veggie burger bc most of the time it’s made with soy, and soy isn’t a vegetable. that’s why i quit eating those veg burgers. i used to think i was eating something healthy, only to find out they’re not even actual “veggies.” so i’m back to eating full on meat burgers lol
lol good point about soy not veggie. Same goes for “vegetable oil” if you look at the ingredients it’s all soybean oil.
Can’t remember which state passed that law (south of the mason dixon of course), but I think it’s because the meat companies paid their legislators to do it. I guess they were losing too much business and figured if they rebranded the competition (something like “veggie bricks”? lol) they’d make more profits. Like you said in another thread, the country is controlled by rich people and the politicians they buy.
I just looked it up… Arkansas, the epicenter of national stupid.
PS I wonder if Arkansas will pass a law banning the term “hot dog” unless it has real dog in it.
they need to call it soylent burgers O_o
I can’t wait for soylent burgers. I would be first in line. to be one.
not sure you’d make a great burger…too much drugs and alcohol in ur system lol XD
lol thats for sure. Whoever takes a bite of me is in for a tangy surprise
whoever takes a bite out of you would get the bends lol 😀
that’s how they get people to believe- by telling half-truths. It’s on both sides- both the left and right do this.
hell, political sides aside, this video above shows that the news stations will lie just about anything and everything- even something as non-controversial and observable as fucking RAIN.
if we can’t trust the news to accurate report the rain without twisting the facts, then how can we rely on them to tell us the truth about important things like cov, war, american corruption, etc?
