That’s precisely the problem. As an econ/finance major, this is the exact shit they lied to us about and have been brainwashing the masses for the last few decades. Hell, most of the shit they “taught” us in my econ classes have turned out to be complete BS! Even back in Uni, I had thought certain specific things in our textbooks seemed strange. Now I know why. -_-
Hell, I was the ONLY one questioning things. NO ONE else in ALL of my classes ever questioned anything we were being taught. Talk about sheeple being sheeple.
These people in charge are disgustingly evil!

heh, it’s nice to be less alone in this belief. I used to watch people, wonder how they could believe in a merit based system, when it’s all down to where you are born, and who to.
I shouldn’t complain, I was born in a kinder time than this, to well off parents. Not well off enough as it turns out, but who could know that 35 years ago?
The theft is intergenerational, it’s been going on for hundreds of years. What is different is that for awhile the very rich were terrified of the guillotine…. now with modern tech they feel they can escape it. Who am I to say, they may be right. Yet I dream the guillotine for them, to haunt them, for it is their destination when they rape the economy in such a way.
bc ppl, ESPECIALLY Americans, have been brain-washed to believe that EVERYTHING is based on hard work and effort. And if you’re not where you want to be, then it is YOUR fault. That’s the dumb brain-washed American mentality.
Never mind that 99% of ALL super wealthy people INHERITED their money and that it wasn’t based off of any “hard work” or intelligence on their part. Or that upward social mobility is almost non-existent in today’s times. Or that ALL the systems are rigged in the wealthy’s favor.
All the current theft is from the Boomers. They broke America, those selfish bastards.
Dream of guillotines? I guess that gives you and many other comfort. But dreaming isn’t anything more than a mirage- it’s not going to happen unless SOMEONE or some ORGANIZATION brings them down. And I don’t see that happening. The corrupt always fucking win.
well, I have my eyes open for an organization to put these ideas into reality. But the misery is spreading, and over and over again throughout history, when the rich have forgotten their prior fear, working people realize they need to remind them.
Well being for the common man has always come at the edge of an ultimatum, the rich have always kept taking until they hit some limit, and throughout history that limit has been working people sick of putting up with it.
and I might be wrong, we might need to accelerate the revolt…. if I become convinced of that, that’s where I’ll put my efforts. I think the corrupt will lose, if only because I am confident that anything enough people put their mind to will happen. I’m guardedly confident in my abilities, if put together with the work of others… who knows?
I’ve been told as long as I remember that I’m very smart. Lately, I suspect it may be true, I may be quite a capable human being. If I am, those abilities will never serve the corrupt. Those abilities will always belong with the exploited masses. There’s a sort of moral rightness to it, the belief in ordinary people being fed up and standing for their rights.
The gilded age ended, British colonialism ended, the Holy Roman Empire ended, French colonialism ended, Imperial China fell, Rome fell, and cities burned. The ordinary people are not the ones who have to fear such things. Rather, the rich, the exploiting class, they have that to fear, because it’s always been right around the corner.
They’re terrified, and rightly so.
That’s the problem, the rich take and take and take UNTIL the peasants FINALLY rise up, and things are good for a short while, until the next generation takes over, and over time the corruptions goes out of control, and the peasants (aka us, the masses) keep taking it and putting up with it UNTIL that generation FINALLY stands up, and the rich concede a bit, and the masses get quelled yet again for awhile, and then the wealthy slowly creep up again, taking more and more, and on and on this goes.
The “good” times for the masses are few and short-lived, whereas the majority of the time it’s rampant out of control corruption. That’s what capitalism always lead to- capitalism will always lead to vulture capitalism bc corruption will always buy the government and police. And in the past it was always monarchies and kings and queens and dictatorships. Obviously those were all bad- the few rich control everything and the masses have to do what they’re told else they get thrown in jail or worse.
A revolt is LONG overdue. The American populace should have revolted DECADES ago, but they won’t bc they’ve been brainwashed, and most are too chicken-shit to do anything, and the rest are just happy to go along with “their lives.”
You look at France and the Yellow Jackets. THAT’S what Americans need to do. But instead we do nothing. The Left go on “marches” which don’t lead to any changes. And the Right don’t even believe in giving everyone healthcare, a higher minimum wage, etc so everyone can have a better life. The Elites have brainwashed them all to fight amongst themselves (poor and middle class) for the leftover crumbs, instead of taking the money back from the rich that they stole from us.
I ‘had’ hope, like you, that people would rise up and things would change. Then 2008 happened. Hope and Change became Hope and Nothing Changed. Then 2016 happened. Then 2020. The people we voted in to help us said all the nice things we wanted to hear- that they’d fight for us, fight for M4A, higher wages, etc. But once they get in, they did nothing, they all fell in line, and they still talk pretty things we want to hear, but they do NOTHING but lip service.
They ALL vote with the Establishment for wars, and more and more money for wars, time and time again, and voted for cutting taxes for the wealthy, over and over again.
They ALL vote for the same thing- both the Left and the Right- for Big ******, MIC, Big Agro, ALL the monied interests. The ONLY “disagreements” the Left and Right have are culture wars. But the Big Stuff- when it comes to $$ and monied interests, they all “magically” come together in bipartisanship to screw us.
All the bickering and fighting between the Left and Right is just a big fat phony show. They ALWAYS come together for the things that actually matter to screw us.
I wish I still had hope, but that hope has been squashed. I have yet to see ANYTHING CONCRETE that the pendulum is going to shift, or that the American populace is going to do anything about it.
We need to become more like the Yellow Vests. But idiot Americans think ONE person (the President) or a few people in Congress is going to do anything. WE, THE PEOPLE, NEED to do stuff. No fucking revolution ever occurred when the masses did fucking nothing. And Americans have done fucking nothing. Most think voting for ONE person is going to change things (it won’t). It takes more than voting ONE person in.
People in Europe have universal healthcare bc they all fought for it. We didn’t so thus, we don’t have it.
I get what you are saying, but I’m just frustrated at the American populace. HALF the populace doesn’t even believe in helping the masses, and the other half thinks just marching (aka walking with signs) or tweeting is going to do anything.
there is a certain meritocracy to the works but not the way we’d like to believe. it has nothing to do with elbow grease and dedication. It’s all about cleverness, shrewdness and beating them at their own game. That’s where the moral high roaders always fail because they’re stuck in the old nose-to-the-grindstone mentality (which afaik never even worked as far back as the invention of the original grindstone). To succeed requires a lot of brain power, I managed to hack wall street and make a killing but my problem is I poured all my ill gotten gains into charitable causes instead of feeding it back into the machine. My oversight 100% so I blame no one. It just sucks that goodness is not sustainable. To use a metaphor from the bhagavadgita (which I despise but it has its moments), you need to be an asshole to fight wars & kill people so that later you can downshift into goodness and enjoy the spoils.
When I saw national debt at 31.4T$ I divided that by 334M population to see every person in this country is now made responsible for 94,012$ of government debt. Did I get this right?
Thank all the shitty people in power in the last 40 years and all the rich corporate assholes that stole everything and put us in debt. Fuck every last one of them.
