I try very hard to communicate with my parents;
To sow the seed of peace and understanding,
But moments of discomfort and accusations
seem to ruin my wanting them to truly know who I am.
They call me liar when I speak only the truth;
They ignore me when I beg for them to explain things to me.
It is time for me to give up- to forget trying.
Too many ways and times have I failed,
And with sorrow my ruby heart impaled.
Years shall pass, and only myself and I
Will surely know the man inside- when we die.
