Been experiencing a fair amount of angst wrt this recently. It’s been seven years since I started, two since I “stopped”, and to be honest I still slip up now and then. Lately, I noticed that when people compliment me for good jobs I did or for how well I look, my response is rather non-eventful, not even a “thank you” or “I appreciate it”..
It is like my mind responds with either “mm…okay” or “mm sure” And I did not continue or dwell any further on that subject. The person who complimented me also noticed my non-response, so the subject was rather short-lived. I realize that I acted like a jackass and send them a signal not to compliment me anymore. Tomorrow I’m seeing my doctors because they’ve made that decision for me and my grandparents have decided that they will make decisions and support other people’s decisions that have been made for me, even though I haven’t made them. No one understands how i feel insde. How much every piece of bad news i recieves absolutely kills me & pushes me further into depression. For one thing I turned off the fucking T”V – nothing like bad news streaming into a vulnerable consciousness. Staying away as much as possible from assholes helps too but, feeling hopeless and anxious is still present; just ramped down.
I see very young people here and realize I’ve been like this since that young age – you either resort to drugs, alcohol and then get into even more hopeless situations- you would think that after all this time I wouldn’t do that; HA
I have no answers
I have gotten nothing but bad news for weeks now. One huge kick to the teeth after another. And it would be difficult for life to throw anything else at me that has not already been done. However, I have done a lot of thinking and have decided that I will NOTÂ just sit here and let all of these people take away my soul, my dignity, my self respect and my life. I am 17 years old and have been depressed for a few years now, suicidal for about a year at least… I keep reading things online about how depression is only going to get better, but in my case it keeps getting worse. My health continues to spiral downwards and make me feel like a complete invalid.
A few months ago I believe I posted another story here regarding the reasoning’s behind my depression and since then it has become much worse. The thought of suicide has become an idea that is able to make me feel at peace.
