I’m afraid to talk about my feelings, because I don’t want to seem as an attention seeker. I’ve always been afraid to open up about the demons in my mind. Until recently, when I found myself curled on the kitchen floor of my parents house, crying, telling my mother I do not want to live anymore.

I haven’t always felt the way I do now. At one point, the only thing that crossed my mind was happiness; but that was long ago. Follow up from my last post where I admitted to my sister I needed mental help. Usually admitting you need help is a great first step to getting better. I guess that all really depends on who you admit it to, though, and I made a huge mistake in my choice apparently.

I’m Kat, I’m 19, I’ve suffered from psychotic depression and severe anxiety for 7 years. I’ve had a really rough upbringing, my father OD’d and disowned me when I was 15, I’ve had hallucinations and delusions since I was 3. Self harmed between ages 13 – 17. Suffered chronic joint pain since I was probably around 9. Have been on several medications. Dropped out of high school at 15. Been homeless. Been mentally and verbally abused by several people. I’ve never written about my mood/mental health/episodes etc. I am now in such an awful place that I can’t find a way out so I’ve resorted to asking for the help of strangers online (which I’ve always sworn I’d never do).

I’m the kind of person who had a great childhood. I wasn’t abused or molested. My family loved me and even though I was kind of weird, I had friends. I was content with my life. But, then, in sixth grade, I discovered that I had a gluten intolerance. Then, everything went downhill.
