What Are Your Reasons To Stay Alive?

Today I had a breakdown again, and I decided to do a list of things that I really enjoy and I’ll miss if I kill myself, because I will be… uhm… dead. So these are 16 things that can help me get through this day, and maybe tomorrow, and next week.

There is nothing very special here, but these are the things that bring some joy to my life, and they are my reasons to stay alive and not kill myself. I will read them every morning so they can help me battle my urges. Tell me about yours too! 🙂

Forgive the selfie.. but here’s a small update. I know nobody I know will find these forums. So why not show off my amazingly depressed face. So last I posted, I had just started college, and had completed my first day. Now I’ve dropped all but my math class so I’m not overwhelmed by my depression. That way I can at least get the hard class done first, and I can go about surviving.

My faith

I tried to kill myself last Tuesday. I don’t remember anything except waking up in the hospital. This was my third attempt. How do I keep surviving? I pray so much that my prayers are me actually begging God to help me. Still no answers. Am I here to be punished? People speak of a hell after we die. Does it really exist or is this really hell and there is nothing after this. I want to believe so bad there is something good after this hell i’m in on this earth.

Just a few hours ago, 153 innocent people were murdered. At leas one of them had now desire to die, but I’m assuming that was the case for most, if not all, of them. I’m still getting through my depression. It’s almost a daily battle here at college, but I’m surviving somehow. I heard this music one day with my therapist, and I couldn’t stop crying.

This song has kept me through some of the hard days. I play it when I fall asleep. I wake up better.

A scamming thief conned me out of $28000 in loans which have never been paid back and now I’m so broke, I can’t even pay for utilities or food. Then last week he even went and robbed my house of every single item of value, plus many, many items that are so sentimental and irreplaceable. I’ve seen the documentary The Bridge many times.Â In spite of the miniscule risk of surviving the jump, it’s still a much more statistically successful method than pills.

Over the course of my short 26 years of life, I have attempted suicide on no less than 8 occasions.
