Over the years i have been the subject of divorces, constantly being physically and verbally abused (both at school and at home), but these last few years have been the hardest. A question on ethics and morality

So I was wondering if my tendency to hurt myself could be considered a positive or at least non-negative behavior. I have been in many situations where I was prepared to commit suicide, but I started cutting or punching myself. The pain always ended up overriding my will to go through with the suicide and I just continued until I was left crying myself to sleep. I can’t think of how many times the cuts and bruises have saved my life. I am so confused on whether I should be happy that hurting myself has saved me or not.

I don’t know if anyone can relate to it. I’ve never told anyone before. My story seems different from the stories I see that flood these boards. I’m not depressed or lonely. I do enjoy living. Even, when I have a strange tendency to forget to do the things that keep people alive such as eating food on a regular basis. I do like food. I’m just forgetful. I wish I could smack all the people who lied to me and told me my life would get better just so that I would not kill myself. Since then my life has gotten progressively worse. I lost everything. My apt, my money, my personal possessions, went into premature labor at 6 months then lost a pregnancy for the second time in less than a year. I will be 15 in 3 weeks. My depression started when i was 13. I began to start cutting myself. Now i have scars left on my arms as a memory. The last time i cut was in December.
