I’ve suffered from depression since I was a child and am now in my 30s. I’ve seen several therapists and tried every type of anti-depressant medication without relief. I discovered later in my life that a bulk of the type of depression I am ailed by is known as Existential Depression and usually does not respond to medication.

I feel like I’ve posted something like this before…So sorry for a potential duplication. Or…Whatever.

Anyway! A lot of times people will do “weird” things caused by depression, or other “disorders,” that can cause oddball behavior. I’m deciding whether to kill myself. I have struggled with depression for a long time. I have seen many therapists, and nothing helps. I couldn’t even get an appointment with a psychiatrist. I had to call for months and I finally got an appointment in another week. I don’t know if I will still be around then.

I know I’ve posted something similar but I am in a mental state of sureality, a feeling of having woke up from having been in a dream. First my parents are having problems. My dad was an alcoholic when i was younger now he quit drinking but is verbally abusive to my mother which may cause them to divorce.

It never seems to end. I am 24 now and I am still depressed. I have been to six different psychiatrists/therapists and I have been on many meds. I still spiral down into deep depression. … and at the end of my rope. I don’t know where to go or what to do. I have attempted suicide twice and am clearly too inept and too much of a coward to end my life properly. I have been dealing with depression, anxiety and suicidal thoughts for fifteen years and have been on a variety of medications and have seen three different therapists to try and fix the problem. I went to see my therapist a week ago. I told her I was starving myself, and that when I do eat something small, I purge. She looked at me and said I was fine. I don’t think I’m skinny enough anyways, but what bothered me was that she just glanced at me and in less than a minutes she decided I was fine. Is that normal for therapists to do? What is the point of living anymore?

Back story: Me and my family have never gotten on. Now…

When I was in Year 4 my mother’s constant manipulation and verbal abuse over me was enough to drive me suicidal. That may sound petty, but nothing was ever good enough for her. My dads’ cousin just hung himself. I’m not going to the funeral – I met him maybe once and barely remember him. Yet it makes me feel… I’m not even sure what. Sad doesn’t quite cover it.

I can’t get help, and it’s going to kill me.

Being transgender, a lot of my normal life, when I’m not suicidal, depends on my ability to get medical treatment- much of which involves therapists asking me, time and time again, if I’ve had any intentions of hurting myself in recent times.
