I’ve worked to support myself for over thirty years. I’ve always taken care of myself without complaint and without asking for handouts. Now, because I’m older, no one will hire me.

I have so much experience and I am very good at what I do. No one cares. All they see is an old, overweight woman. I speak with agencies and potential employers on the phone and they are so excited to meet me but when I go in for an interview they say there is nothing for me at the moment. I don’t know what to do anymore. I’ve tried so hard for so long that i’ve got nothing left in the tank. What’s left for a person at this point? How do I continue to struggle on? Where can I find inspiration in a world that I detest so wholly? Why do i sit here typing in these questions hoping they’ll be magically answered?

Why is it wrong for a person who has gone their whole life caring about others to finally be selfish for once? Even if that selfish act is suicide.

Ending my life is a viable option

I’m thirty years old, and I’ve done nothing with my life. I have no job. I have no friends, and I’m failing in school again. I can’t take these cycles any longer. I do well for a couple years. I make friends, hold a job, and do well in school. Then the depression comes back. I push my friends away, lose my job, and fail in school. When should one give up?

I’m speaking about suicide. When should I throw in the towel? Delusions of grandeur kept me alive all these years. I thought that life would turn around for me and make the past thirty years worth living. But I see it for what it is, a coping mechanism. It’s becoming increasingly apparent that some people get dealt a raw deal and life and that it’s just the way it is. There is no happy ending for everyone, no matter how *positive* you think.
