What does man love more than life
Fear more than death or mortal strife
What the poor have, the rich require,
and what contented men desire,
What the miser spends and the spendthrift saves
And all men carry to their graves?
Instinct driving human to add a point where none exists except for acquiring, consuming, eliminating, procreating, and dying.
No meaning yet we invent infinite.
Many animal species can learn, but I wonder if they think and what their thoughts encompass.
Animals don’t “think” beyond instinct. Otherwise you would definitely see “rebel” ants and “suicidal” deer. (unless that is why they are always standing in the road) 😀

This is really good!! I felt like you were reading my thoughts and putting the into ur words!
Did you write this? This is actually pretty good. Most of the poetry on this site isn’t great (sorry all)
No I didn’t. It’s an old riddle. It just gets you thinking how much of nothingness equates to life itself. It’s all nothing.
Or better said we’re all a part of the something that is nothing.
nothing. i got this in a chain mail a few years back.
I hate riddles, lol.
I think men love their Ego’s more than life, ……… how wil we be remembered, how are we veiwed by our fellows while alive. We fear losing “Face”.
I think the rich often want the humblness of “some” less fortunate.
Who knows what life is all about, and if there is or isn’t another existence after our mortal lives.
Riddle makes sense.
Like one of the zen koans.
