Depression
Depression can be a terrible thing. Some people may not think it; But Depression is a mental health disorder.  Depression is were you’re basically sad for usually a long period of time.
Some people wonder what the signs and symptoms of depression are. So I’m going to tell you a few:
- A constant feeling of sadness, anxiety, and emptiness
- The person feels hopeless
- Individuals can feel restless
- Patients may lose interest in activities or hobbies they once enjoyed
- Levels of energy feel lower
- Â Hard to concentrate, remember details, and make decisions
- Sleep patterns are disturbed – the person may sleep too little or too much
- Eating habits may change – he/she may either eat too much or have no appetite
- Suicidal thoughts may occur – some may act on those thoughts
When people are depressed, they often feel that they are all alone and no one is there to help them to get better. And no one feels the way they do. But in reality there are people trying to help and there are people feeling the same way as them. They just don’t realize it.
Lots of people tend to ask the same question, what causes depression? Well there’s not really just one thing that causes it. There is a whole bunch. It could be because of bullies, or the environment at home. Also could be caused because of things that have happened in your past, you could have been physically abused or abandoned by a loved one and that could of affect.
Some depressed people end up harming themselves also known as “cutting” why do they do this? Well when a person is emotionally hurt, they cut them self to get the emotional feelings out by physical pain. So, when the cut hurts more then the emotion pain, it makes the person feels better
Some people become so depressed they figure the only way out is killing themselves and some people may not even realize they are depressed. Like Rick Rypien. Who played for the Vancouver Canucks. most people would say that he didn’t look depressed at all and looked happy. Some people can hide their depression very well. While others can’t.
Most people with depression often get help through therapy or counseling. Some doctors give them antidepressants.

It’s not bad, a little brief, but not bad, also I have no idea what grade you’re in so i can’t assess based on that. I wish you the best of luck on the presentation–I always hated oral reports in school–such anxiety!!
not to shabby little buddy 🙂
@ deadinside
lol thank you 🙂 I’m in grade 9 😀
@protoryu
thank you 😀 I’m just so scared to read it monday in front of my whole class.
You’ll do fine Morgan I am sure of it.
nice report, when I read through your list of symptoms I was like yep I have that, and that, and that one to. You might want to incorporate some of the changes that were suggested in your other post. Is it up to the 3 minutes you needed? Might want to read it a few times maybe substitute some words so it sounds better, more polished. Overall its very good, especially for a report you only spent a day or so working on 🙂
@portoryu
