I wonder if someone were to jump off a bridge or a building or something if they would regret it while they’re falling. You know like when you’re jumping off a diving board and halfway down you realize it wasn’t such a good idea after all because you’re about to land in the cold water. I wonder if once they jump to kill themselves they suddenly wish they hadn’t and wish they could reverse it. Maybe they don’t even think about it. idk.

I really don’t know… I think the moment of truth would come when you’ve climbed over and you’re about to make the decision to jump. Once you jump, I’m not sure how much thinking you do. There are some people who have survived… Maybe one of their stories talks about their thought process, if any, once they jumped and were descending.
I just hope whoever makes the decision to jumps thinks carefully and extensively about it. I’d like to think there is a solution possible… given time and effort. Granted, I’m convincing myself of that, too.
I would think that they wouldn’t regret it. If they are desperate enough to escape and have reached the bridge they plan on jumping off of, they most likely have done all of the thinking already. They have made their choice.
One should always be equipped with a parachute and life jacket in that sort of situation. They might laugh at you in the office, but take comfort knowing that caution is often the best approach to death.
Or go bungee jumping but pretend you aren’t going to bounce back up.
Jumping is usually pretty obvious and a cry for help rather than a determined attempt. However I agree taking a parachute (and knowing how to use it) may be a sensible precaution… It would also help anyone left behind as instead of being a simple suicide it could be assumed that it was a stunt/extreme sport that went wrong…
I’m pretty sure that most people who jump from bridges without the proper gear have no intention of surviving when they land. If they do, it’s for a reason other than self-will. If you want to die but want to make it look like you died for the benefit of family and loved ones, perhaps you shouldn’t be attempting suicide in the first place… Instead, perhaps you should give the very people you’re worried about the opportunity to help you… because they may be very worried about you.
correction: If you want to die but want to make it look like you HAD AN ACCIDENT
