I’ve always been told I have a way with words, but I’ve never felt able to communicate unless it was through music. I can say things I never thought I’d be able to get out any other way with my music. Music is what keeps me alive. Words cannot express how I feel right now, so I wrote a song about it. It was originally meant for a friend, but it turned out to be a lot more about me than I thought. Anyway, here it is. I know it’s not great, but I feel like I got out what i was trying to say.
She Cries Alone
V1: She seems happy,
she cheers everybody up,
‘cause that’s exactly what is expected of her.
But she’s not laughing,
she’s dying on the inside,
holding in everything that longs to be free (yeah)
CHORUS: She’s just trying to stay alive,
to keep both feet down,
to be satisfied.
She just wants to have somebody who cares.
And in this world full of people,
no one seems to understand that she’s dying on the inside,
so she cries alone.
V2: She is searching,
but looks with empty eyes.
She is trying
to find a place to hide.
She is broken,
why can’t anybody see?
She doesn’t want to show everyone she bleeds.
CHORUS
BRIDGE: She’s imprisoned in her own life,
bearing a burden that only she can see.
She’s looking for the one who dares to care,
to set her her free! But for now…. (ooooh)
She’s just trying to stay alive,
to keep both feet down,
to be satisfied.
She just wants to have somebody who cares.
And in this world full of people,
no one seems to understand that she’s dying on the inside,
so she cries, she cries
alone.
