So I drank antifreeze for suicide twice. The first was about a glass and nothing serious happened. I threw up a lot, and felt very very sick for about a month. I didn’t get any medical treatment except an IV.
The second time, I drank a lot more. The hospital said it was about a liter. I also took all the sleeping pills I had before I started drinking it, and I threw up much less. I started feeling very sleepy after less than two hours. Unfortunately, I was carted off to the hospital. There was nothing painful about it, actually. The Zoloft the hospital forced me to take actually made me feel sicker than anything the antifreeze caused.
So my question is, how long would it have taken me to die if I hadn’t been found? Apparently, a liter is considered massive ingestion.

Not sure how long it would have taken you but maybe next time try something that will be a lot quicker and less chance of getting found before your dead.
If you choose a different way to kill yourself, like an od, don’t mix a depressant with a stimulant, it will just make you feel like shit
Why use anti freeze? of all the questions i have regarding your post that one sticks out then followed with the why suicide?
I may be just wasting my time writing on a suicide post from 6yrs ago, but a part of me has hope that maybe, just maybe I can find an answer I’m looking for.
About 3yrs ago someone very close to me drank alot of antifreeze to try to kill themselves, but they ended up living and haven’t been the same since then. That person has symptoms of Ethylene glycol poisoning, which is found in Antifreeze. Some of the symptoms include a decreased level of consciousness, headache, and seizures. Long term symptoms include kidney failure and brain damage. Which can lead to Cerebral edema, which is what I think they have. Some symptoms of that is mood changes, memory loss, difficulty speaking, incontinence, change in consciousness, seizures
weakness. They’ve experienced all those symptoms I’ve listed above. However they haven’t gone to the doctor or hospital to get tested or treated due to not being financially able or mentally understanding that they need help.
Now that I’ve explained my story, I would like to know if anyone has experienced or know someone who has experienced anything like what I explained above.
