My problems are not as complex as they feel.
I can trust some people.
The problem is figuring out which people.
I can empathize with others.
The problem is figuring out how to express it.
I am a better person than I think I am.
The problem is believing it.
I am much like everyone else.
The problem is seeing it.
There are a subset of people with OCD who obsess over thinking they are schizophrenic.
I often wonder if there are a subset of people with OCD who obsess over thinking they’re a narcissist.
If so, I probably have both themes.
Or maybe I am a schizophrenic narcissist.
Or maybe I’m a normal person who’s having a normal reaction to abnormal circumstances.
Note to self: quit acting like a child.
Reply from self: you big meanie-head!

I think a key point you may be overlooking about mental disorders is that, to truly suffer from them, would mean that you don’t realize you have them. Especially something like narcissism which involves such a disregard for other people and how they relate to you, such a lack of empathy, if you had it you would lack the presence of mind to ever stop and think “gee, maybe I’m a narcissist”. It’s like saying you read an article about eyesight and you think you might be blind. When you’re blind, you don’t have the physical sight to figure that out, and when you have narcissistic personality disorder or borderline personality disorder, you don’t care enough about other people to think about your relationships and how you act. Same thing with schizophrenia, if you are literally going crazy, hearing voices, imagining things, you don’t have the presence of mind to start worrying that you are sick. As they say, people who are crazy don’t think they’re going crazy, they think they are the only normal person they know.
OCD is a bit different. I suppose because it manifests in such a physical way, you can notice yourself washing your hands ten times or flipping light switches, but even then, in most cases these people need it pointed out to them that what they are doing isn’t normal. They don’t realize as they are going through their rituals that they probably have OCD.
I’m not trying to downplay the concerns about your mental health. You might have some issues. But it’s actually a good sign that you can actually sit and think about it and wonder if you do. Because if you were truly crazy or truly deeply lost in a disorder, you wouldn’t even realize something was wrong.
I do have an OCD and ADHD diagnosis – my own thoughts are that they’re both the same thing; hyperfocusing on stupid crap turns obsessive, and a constant fear of forgetting something pushes me into compulsive organization (everything must be how it “should be” or some great and epic disaster will transpire because I don’t know where my screwdriver is :P). I know it makes no sense, but it is what it is.
It’s all stupidly complicated and absurd.
Camelot is now only 50/50 to participate in the Prix de l’arc de triomphe, Europe’s richest race. There was speculation surrounding the dual classic winners participation following his narrow defeat in the St Leger. Since then an announcement was made by Ballydoyle that regular rider J P O’Brien would not be partnering the colt due to difficulties making the weight. We are expecting an announcement fairly soon confirming whether or not the mighty Camelot will take his place in the 18 runner field. The chances have however been boosted by the defending champion Dandream being unable to make the race and the high class Snow Fairy struggling with injury. I have nothing else new to report.
Breaking news. Now Nathaniel has been ruled out of Sunday’s Arc. I don’t know whether Aiden O’ frequents suicide sites but he might; this is Camelot’s big chance to rebuild his reputation. How can you not run him.
Duke: you really like horse racing, don’t you? 😉
Of course
The latest News is that the Arc is now being ‘strongly considered’ for both Camelot and St Nicholas Abbey. He’s won three classics and I can’t believe people are doubting his ability. How only failed in the triple crown bid because of a poor ride from his incompetent jockey. Camelot’s participation is looking increasingly likely. This could really dig me out of a hole.
Its been confirmed. Camelot will be partnered by Frankie Dettori in the Arc. This is somewhat of a surprise as he is the retained jockey for Godolphin, the main competitors of Coolmore and the two superpowers have been involved in a bitter feud for a decade. I think it was the right decision.
Here is the story courtesy of the RP:AFTER disappointingly losing his unbeaten record in the St Leger, Camelot’s connections have committed to a cross-Channel raid in a bid to pit the three-time Classic winner’s reputation against the best older horses in the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe. The complexion of the race has changed vastly in recent days, with the will he, won’t he question hanging over Camelot just one sub-plot to the ante-post drama that has surrounded the race. But on Wednesday Aidan O’Brien finally confirmed the son of Montjeu for the Longchamp spectacular with Frankie Dettori, stable jockey to arch rivals Godolphin, booked to ride. Joseph O’Brien, who has partnered Camelot on every start to date, will be on St Nicholas Abbey as he is unable to ride at 8st 11lb.In another twist to the Arc landscape that has seen two of the three co-favourites – Danedream and Nathaniel – miss the race, along with the well-fancied Snow Fairy, rumours circulated this morning that German filly Danedream may be in line for a shock return to the fold, prompting a gamble from 1,000 on Betfair into 10.However, Patrick Barbe, spokesman for part-owner Teruya Yoshida, said on Wednesday afternoon: “I spoke to the owner an hour ago and he didn’t mention it. From my side there is no substance in the rumour because of the travel restrictions on horses in Cologne.”There is always a possibility, but the chances are one in a million unless the German Jockey Club say they made a mistake.”
