A Mother Reflects on Her Grandson’s Murder, Daughter’s Suicide

I wanted to share this compelling story with you, in which an Iowa woman talks about her 19-year-old daughter Kelli’s years-long struggle with mental illness. In March 2012, Kelli killed her 2-year-old son and the next day took her own life. Kelli was never diagnosed as suffering from depression, but her mother now believes she was depressed. She is speaking out to help others dealing with depression and mental illness.
