Maybe you don’t go anywhere – maybe you just stops “being”. But if you mean “somewhere worse” as in Hell, personally, I don’t think so. I think it take a really sick person to kill themselves. I mean sick as in suffering from such… pain, sorrow, fear, guilt, regret, etc. And, I think the Universe knows this. The Universe knows your heart and forgives.
But that’s just what I think. I could just not go anywhere, too.
I highly doubt that a loving God would send someone to hell for committing suicide. Though I think you’ll have to face the same challenges/struggles that you were supposed to face in this life, in your next life.
We don’t know what happens. But we can take a gander on what will happen to those left behind. I don’t really are anymore what will happen to me. But don’t want to Hurt my mom she has suffered enough
Where YOU think YOU will go depends on what you choose to believe … current evidence would support that – when the body of a living organism dies, it breaks down and disintegrates and is recycled back into the ecosystem – all that’s left are the memories and impressions you’ve left on others and eventually those fade away – everything else is just a good fairy tale – if you’re open to such things.
i believe the science – you get one dance around the mudball – no re-runs.
I think what happen’s is we just lose consciousness for ever. Oblivion. As human’s (us you and me are self aware.) We are aware that one day we will die. So we created religion and Built place’s of worship.
I think hazelleyes said it best “Is there really a worse place than the one we are in?”
Until there’s scientific research to suggest otherwise, believing you’ll go to Heaven, Hell, or end up reincarnated as a butterfly is just as illogical as believing you get transported to a land where everyone is made of chocolate syrup. Religion is made by man, for man.
Science is pretty clear at this point: consciousness is just your brain firing electrical impulses. Once that stops you won’t know anything.
I disagree somewhat that “this is the worst place” … it’s the ONLY place … so it really is what we choose to make it … it just “is” … for all is’t good, bad, ugly and indifference – it just is … on reincarnation … that’s always an interesting thought exercise … much like the other thread recently posted – “who would you be if you could change” … people always want to come back as puppies, butterflies, cats, etc.
but no one ever thinks of the millions of those species that suffer and die immensely more than we ever will on our worst day – sure – come back as a puppy, will you be the one out of thousands that is born into a nice comfy, rich, loving home … sorry – it’s more likely you’ll be born into so vicious hell where you’re eaten, tortured and/or neglected and abandoned and otherwise left to die only to be captured and euthanized at the city pound – or worse, end up in an animal testing lab
pick any animal, bug or fish that you want to come back as, and i can show a vast world of pain and suffering (much at the hands of humans) far beyond anything you’ve yet to experience
no – i really hope (actually i’m sure there is not) there is no such thing as reincarnation because all the options are realistically much worse than i currently have it

I suppose you carry all of your life experience with you when you die, be it good or bad.
I’m hoping that I’ll go to heaven. That’d be great.

I recommend the book ‘Many Lives, Many Masters’ it does really change your view on the afterlife
