If you feel your parents have been kind to you in such that way, then they obviously love you, and that you were anything but a mistake. I hope you’re not feeling the way you are just because you feel undeserving.

Have your parents actually told you that you were a mistake?
If his/her parents are anything like my mom was when I was growing up, they try to tell you that. I’m not sure if she ever pinpointed me as specifically being a mistake, but she frequently ranted about how having kids and giving up 20 years of her life was a mistake. Hurrah.
