I am glad I found this site. It is important to post my view about life and death, the personal decision to decide for many if death is the better choice to cope. My view on the topic is only mine and I don’t choose to get in a heated debate about such a decision
It is hard to die in the USA, even if a person has decided to end their own life. There are legal issues, those left behind to suffer loss of a loved one, estate, life insurance problems for heirs, etc. It is extremely difficult to obtain medications that almost guarantee a sure demise and peaceful pain free exit. We of course are aware the many tools of termination available for a successful suicide when medications for the purpose cannot be obtained. Also the human body has much toughness and agility, despite extraordinary measures that challenge it.
If you have read the many blogs On the web about suicide and the record number of people throughout the world who have made attempts and failed and those who have succeeded. The numbers of people who go in this direction seem to be in the tens of thousands. Some of these people have failed, despite numerous and sometimes aggressive and desperate methods to be sure their way was permanent. Obviously these people set a goal, find a way, and act on it to end their life
Usually people who decide to die by their own hand is not something that was decided upon overnight. What are their reasons they they feel they must die? We know the answers. Severe pain and incurable, longstanding illness, struggles with lifelong clinical depression that hasn’t responded to a variety of treatments, accidents, loss of a loved one, bankruptcy, tax issues, job losses, not coping with retirement after a very satisfying job, close friends who have died or moved away that use to be their support system, the list is endless.
I have to address the spiritual concepts that create many debates and disagreements among religious souls and non believer about suicide. In America, citizens have religious freedoms. People can be Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu or atheist. We hear religious souls sometimes say, “well God never gives us more than we can handle.” But do those words actually appear in Scripture? Perhaps they do, but I am not a scholar. Have true God fearing Christians taken their own lives. At times yes, I think so. Has God forgiven them? According to Scripture, if they have accepted Christ, all their sins have been forgiven, even suicide.
Do life challenges become so unbearable for some, despite effective coping skills, that one is so overwhelmed with adversity that the abyss is so deep, it is nearly impossible to even make an attempt to climb out of it? Yes, of course. How can some human beings seem to get into any adversity and survive when others can’t cope and find it impossible to continue living a life of purpose?
This is the end of Part A. Part B will follow soon.

Great post. Looking forward to Part B.
because we are all different. we all experience thing on different levels. what some might find easier to cope with, may actually be a death sentence for another. its impossible to analyze the human mind or human feelings in a generalized manner.
I will third this motion and say thank you for your post. You sum up beautifully
