If you can put your problems aside to help others, why not put your problems aside to help yourself? And then you’ll be even more able to help others. What is so great about “others,” that you would want to help them? What is so not-great about “self,” that you would rather not? Doesn’t it stand to reason that helping yourself is better, because it then makes you better able to help both yourself, *and* others? Why can’t it be both?
