What’s so good about being black anyways , I wish I was indian or asian or even mexican.Anything other than being black is good.Almost everyone I know isn’t black so why do I have to be black. On top of that I’m ugly, oh great I get to be black and ugly for the rest of my life.

First of all, I’m sure you’re gorgeous.
Second of all, being white isn’t that great.
Trust me, I’m as white as can be. My skin is so sensitive that I can’t go in to the sun without getting heat rash. Therefore, I don’t tan.
I don’t wear shorts because my legs are so white.

I’d prefer being asian because asians are so beautiful and have such a unique culture but I feel like because I’m black I’m not special.
Oh honey, I go to an international school. Two of my best friends are Asian.
Guess what? They don’t feel special either haha
I don’t think it matters where you’re from or what colour our skin is, we’ll never feel good enough.

I often wished I was born Asian as well, as I never seemed suited for American culture. But, I’m not, so whatever. I can still be whatever I want to be.
Weird. A significant number of black people in my area, seem to think that they are indeed special, just for being born black. I have encountered people of various races and heritage combinations, who seem to think this same thing about themselves.
I would also like to have been born in another race ….but then…..I wonder if I were…. would I still want to be born another race?
Being Asian isn’t all that. clevername is right. I’m pretty sure many people have the same ideas about their race and heritage.

I just googled “people who wish they were Asian”. There’s an article which claims that 78% of all trans-racial Asians living in America consider themselves white.
Also, what percentage Black do you have to be to be considered Black? Obama’s mother is an uber whitest woman, so Obama is 50% Black. What if you’re 25% Black? Or 1/16th? Are you still Black?
@ OP; I wouldn’t worry about it. You can’t be anyone else besides who you are, and who you are is a result of who your parents were. It’s not as if you had a choice or any sort of influence determining who your parents were. Just roll with it.
@C4…Well I thought it was always the “one drop rule” that determined if you were black or not…..at least that’s how people determine if you are…..which I don’t think is really true because technically they are “mixed” if they are 50-50 or whatever
@PinNlife; Yeah, racial identity can get confusing. My sister took a racial identity DNA test about a year ago. Turns out she’s 93% European, 7% East Asian. I never saw that coming. (We have the same parents). I’ve never felt the least bit Asian.
My guess is that Genghis Kahn and Co. might have had something to do with this. Conquerors weren’t very polite when it came to mating back in the old days. I read that something like 8% of East Asians carry a gene that can be traced directly to Genghis. He’s thought to have sired somewhere between 4,000- 20,000 children during his lifetime.
His sons were also prolific baby makers.
So who knows. Maybe there’s a little bit of Genghis in many of us, and we don’t even know it.
@ DAMN that’s a lot of sperm! ….sheesh….its hard to see how he did that without Viagra and redbull and still managed to conquer a lot of territory….but I figure we all have something from a different race if we go back far enough….. I remember drawing out a family tree and realized as you go up the numbers double….2 parents to make me….4 parents to make them….8 parents to make the 4……16 to make the eight…..and a few centuries ago that means it took a lot people to make me possible so the gene pool will be mixed even more in the future to make those generations possible

@PainNlife; That’s a good point. My maternal grandparents had 15 children. (Two were stillborn, so technically she had 17). That poor woman was pregnant for around twenty years. I asked my mom once why her mom had so many children. “Because they didn’t believe in birth control. It was God’s will”.
Anyway, most of my maternal aunts and uncles went on to do their procreative duties. I think I have 38 cousins or so from that side of the family. My grandparents were responsible for bringing 53 people into this world within the span of two generations.
Imagine if everyone gave in to this biological urge to procreate. To help keep the species thriving by popping out as many copies of yourself as possible. One or two kids is fine, but you’re right -population growth is exponential when it goes unchecked. It makes famines, drought, wars, diseases and general widespread genocide seem “not quite so bad” in the grand scheme of things. “Thinning out the herd”.
@C4 Wow that’s a huge family… I see why there is a limitation on how many children you can have in various parts of the world… My grandparents had 13 and I just don’t understand what was the motivation behind all those kids…. I guess some people just want big families but IMO 3-5 kids is big enough anything after that is just too much…. especially if they are born back to back… how can a parent even manage all the different personalities, needs and stress?
Yeah, kinda makes you wonder about the future. At what point will the population exceed available resources?
That’s a scary thought…..especially when you realize many people are also wasteful and don’t recycle….. I remember during childhood we had roaches and at first you would see maybe 3 or 4 at a time…..then during the summers over the years they began increasing until they began to die out and eat each other because we started making the food inaccessible to them….I think…..if the food on earth dried up because there was too many people….humans would revert to the same thing
uggh, cannibalism. Somebody sent me a link to a cannibal group doing their thing – it was difficult to watch.
They had a dead guy lying on a concrete slab. Then the cannibals dismembered him. They threw away internal organs which weren’t going to get eaten. They peeled the dead man’s skin off, picked the flesh from the bone, and barbequed him. There were maybe 50 photos in all.
This happened in Thailand in 2011. By the time it was over, there was a bloody skull and a few “undesirable” pieces of the dead guy lying in the grass. Another creepy aspect to this picnic was how happy everyone looked. The only person who wasn’t smiling was the main course.
“The only person who wasn’t smiling was the main course.” LOL….. but that just shows you what humans are capable of…..there are those that will say that they are “uncivilized” and “barbaric” but I guarantee if all the food dried up today somebody is going to be on the main course for dinner…. Somebody somewhere will get hungry enough to kill someone and eat them…. makes me kind of glad to know when everything hits the fan I won’t be here to be subjected to it
I hate being black too, we still get a ton of racist crap. More than other races.
