She’d pray each night. Wasn’t there a God out there? Doesn’t Jesus love her anymore? Why does He allow bad things to happen to good people?
She prayed for years, each night, the same prayer. But with each passing year, her prayers grew less and less until one day she just stopped praying…Her faith in an Omnipresent, Omnipotent, Omniscient God ended in disappointment. Maybe her suffering wasn’t that important enough to make a dent in God’s busy schedule…

IT can be much less disappointing to adopt the prevailing hypothesis that there is no god or jesus to answer prayers … considering there is no evidence to support their existence it can feel much less personal to realize that some humans with good intentions believe in such things and as a result, taught the children to believe as well … they meant no harm by it … but we can realize that we can choose to know there is no god out their purposely ignoring our pleas.
Be important to yourself and realize you are your own “god” … and since their is no omnipotent “god” … you’ll have a lot of extra time available to focus on you instead of spending sundays and prayer times to “ask” an ungrateful and non-existent being for his/her time/attention.
Don’t be disappointed – be awakened and aware ๐
top dawg
This post is really sad ๐
Mostly because the character in this narrative was so naive as to believe her problems would be alleviated miraculously by some magical deity and so she did nothing to help herself for years and then blamed God for everything and didn’t take responsibility for her own lack of action. Those kind of people, ugh.
A lot of very intelligent people have been misled by religion for substantial portions of their lives – coming to the realization, at any point in life – is a good step towards growth of the individual – to take such a step should be seen as a positive and be celebrated – the world and it’s wonders become open, as does the mind begin to work on figuring how the natural world creates and produces its amazing wonders … no longer can the mind simply stop and say “god did that” and never need to think on it anymore … no – the mind must continue to search and think to find real world solutions that follow the rules of nature.
Don’t pine for the past – instead, embrace the future!
forward dawg
