Trying to decide on a date. I don’t want to do it too close to any of my son’s birthdays (they are all grown, 18, almost 21, 24). I’m thinking within this next week.
I don’t want to stop you from doing it, after all, it’s your choice and you probably have some reasons to do it. But, I recommend you to speak to them. Losing someone is really painful. So please, talk to them. Not just words, talk to them with your heart. Eventually, you’ll notice how much they love you, and that’s all I wish for someone who suicide, to die happy.

At the risk of sounding callous, placing the date of your death away from the birthdates of your sons won’t numb their pain in the slightest.
