Yes, I internalize my anger, I know that is a part of my depression but if I learned to at an early age it`s hard to let go of even with years of therapy.
So there’s this ‘trend’ in psychotherapy or whatever, that tells people “it’s wrong to internalize your anger,” almost as if to say “you are defective” or “you are choosing to make yourself feel this way, and are therefore responsible for artificially causing your own problems.”
But why does no one ever counter such blatant idiocy with the fact that Externalizing your anger is destructive to others, and will get you thrown in prison?
Don’t blame yourself for shit that isn’t your fault, and stop trying to make excuses for others who deserve blame. It’s not wrong to blame someone for something they have actually done; don’t let anyone convince you otherwise. But in order to blame the right person, you have to understand the interconnectedness and interactions between most, if not all things… and that can take a long time to develop, and i don’t see it being widely taught to the general populous.
Cause and effect is the key. Every effect has at least one cause, but not every cause has a valid or justified or even discernible reason.
