How can I produce carbon monoxide without breathing in the fumes of the formic acid (when it’s mixing with sulfuric acid). I couldn’t stand the burning smell and got out of the car. This is so frustrating I want to die so badly. Should I mix the chemicals together in a closed container and then wait a few minutes before letting lose the CO?

There are ways to build apparatuses which only allow gas escape.
Did you ever figure it out?
Acids are very messy. Unless you can buy some laboratory glassware I think mixing the chemicals in a sealed container that is able to expand (for gas production) and then later “popped open” would work. But if there is any liquid acid left then you will be able to smell it. Find the equilibrium amount of reactions necessary to produce gas with no left overs and maybe that will eliminate excess leftovers. I live in Texas and I’m not leaving room for error anymore therefore I’m buying a shotgun. I’m going to get a helmet, drill a hole where I want the gun to enter my skull and Yea. Sorry I can’t help
